  the	
  City	
  of	
  Norwich	
  
VISION	
   Norwich	
  is	
  a	
  community	
  where	
  the	
  arts	
  are	
  an	
  easily	
  recognizable	
  part	
  of	
  the	
  community,	
  with	
  well-­‐communicated	
  programs	
  
and	
  where	
  arts	
  feel	
  welcome	
  to	
  present	
  their	
  work.	
  	
  
GOALS Norwich	
  has	
  formed	
  an	
  Arts	
  Events	
  Committee,	
  which	
  has	
  identified	
  and	
  prioritized	
  the	
  following	
  issues	
  and	
  goals	
  to	
  satisfy	
  
the	
  mission	
  and	
  vision.	
  	
  
ISSUE GOAL
	
   	
  
There	
  is	
  a	
  need	
  to	
  have	
  an	
  organization	
  take	
  a	
  leadership	
  role	
  in	
  administering	
  the	
  
strategic	
  plan	
  to	
  ensure	
  that	
  all	
  groups	
  remain	
  focused	
  on	
  the	
  objectives	
  of	
  the	
  plan.	
   1. Develop	
  arts-­‐based	
  beautification	
  projects	
  
	
   	
  
There	
  is	
  a	
  lot	
  to	
  do	
  in	
  Norwich	
  but	
  it	
  is	
  not	
  always	
  well	
  communicated.	
  There	
  is	
  a	
  
need	
  for	
  a	
  purposeful	
  commitment	
  to	
  marketing	
  of	
  arts,	
  cultural	
  and	
  heritage	
  events	
  
and	
  activities.

Norwich	
  has	
  a	
  history	
  of	
  arts	
  programs

  places

  However,	
  there	
  are	
  
places	
  in	
  the	
  City	
  that	
  look	
  vacant	
  and	
  neglected.	
  Art	
  should	
  be	
  utilized	
  to	
  beautify	
  
the	
  city.

  arts,	
  cultural	
  and	
  heritage	
  events	
  and	
  activities	
  
	
   	
  
Norwich	
  has	
  several	
  perception	
  problems,	
  which	
  include	
  lack	
  of	
  parking,	
  that	
  the	
  city	
  
is	
  dirty,	
  etc.	
  There	
  is	
  a	
  need	
  to	
  address	
  the	
  issues	
  that	
  are	
  commonly	
  referenced.
