My excitement for Northwestern can be embodied in the words of Professors Julio Ottino and Gary Saul Morson, "It is in the augmentation of
possibilities–the things we never knew–where remarkable opportunities exist at the intersection of engineering and humanities." I learned first–hand the
value of such collaboration across disciplines to solving global issues like HIV, working on my research at USC. The unique opportunity to combine
the best of a Weinberg and McCormickeducation–one that emphasizes a broader definition of computer science to leverage the school's other amazing
departments, including Economics, Sociology, Kellogg, and even Journalism is extremely appealing. There, I can explore connections between these
fields and discover new ones by pursuing unique courses like Social Network Analysis or Technology and Human Interaction and research at the

Personal Narrative: The Qualities Of Northwestern
What can I say? Northwestern has many unique qualities that intrigue me. Northwestern is located in a great area Evanston just north of Chicago. They
provide their students with a high intense brain challenging education. I love that Northwestern challenge their students, while also making it an
enjoyable experience. I want to be apart of Northwestern Radio/Television/and Film program. Another unique quality is the amount of historical alumni
who attended northwestern. I want to someday add my name to that list. I want to be a part of Northwestern to receive that challenging education, so

Northwestern's Engagement Analysis
Many universities claim strong academics or a beautiful campus or an emphasis on diversity, but pale in comparison to the engagement that is
emphasized at Northwestern. Northwestern's engagement, in its own community and globally, sets the school apart. The school spirit at Northwestern
is incredible; I have heard several accounts from Northwestern students expressing the engagement of their fellow students both in the classroom and

We can thank the liberal media for my interest in Northwestern University. I come from a conservative Catholic family, and when I was young, I
was not allowed to watch most modern movies or t.v. shows. (I can, however, quote lines from Leave it to Beaver, The Dick Van Dyke Show and

My Northwestern experience has been comprised of many obstacles, yet I have learned a lot from these obstacles. Northwestern University is a very

Although Northwestern will be filled with new obstacles, I am looking forward to attending Northwestern because it is a place of exploration and
discovery. After I joined the Northwestern Class of 2020 Facebook page, I quickly realized what Northwestern truly represented. I was overwhelmed
by the talented, yet diverse group of students. From an Irish dancer to a lego lover, incoming Northwestern students have had interesting experiences

because it offers the chance to explore courses outside of my major while having the option to add another major or minor to my degree. During my
campus tour, there was a great discussion regarding the importance of research on campus. I was very impressed with how the University embraces and
encourages its undergrad students to get involved with those projects. The thought of being able to participate in a research project is intriguing to me.
