Factors Impacting Market Growth Competition makes telecom services more affordable Market drivers Market restraints The significant prevalence of  pre-paid and multi SIM subscribers causes high churn between operators The addition of lower income subscribers by operators results in lowering ARPUs Low income levels across the region High illiteracy rates and lack of education restricts the uptake of sophisticated data services Low broadband penetration rates across the region  A relatively low fixed-line penetration is driving mobile growth in the country The introduction and great adoption of 3G services
North African Mobile Subscribers by Country in 2010   Expected North Africa Net Additions by Country from 2010 to 2017 During last couple of years all the countries in NA region had showed a particularly high rate of growth in mobile markets. Although most of the countries are reaching 100% mobile phone penetration, the market is expected to continue growing steadily with high net additions. Some countries are expected to double their number of mobile subscribers during the forecast period  It is no surprise that Egypt has the greatest subscriber base, given its position as the region’s most populous country.
