Strong words or moderate words: A comparison of the reliability and validity of responses on attitude scales
A common assumption in attitude measurement is that items should be composed of strongly worded statements. The presumed benefit of strongly worded statements is that they produce more reliable and valid scores than statements with moderate or weak wording. This study tested this assumption using commonly accepted criteria for reliability and validity. Two forms of attitude scales were created—a strongly worded form and a moderately worded form—measuring two attitude objects—attitude towards animal experimentation and attitude towards going to the movies. Different formats were randomly administered to samples of graduate students. There was no superiority found for strongly worded statements over moderately worded statements. The only statistically significant difference was found between one pair of validity coefficients ( r = 0.69; r = 0.15; Z = 2.60, p ≤ 0.01) and that was in the direction opposite from expected, favoring moderately worded items over strongly worded items (total scores correlated with a general behavioral item). Effective ways to understand and organize data using descriptive statistics. Analyzing data collected from studies of young music students, the video helps viewers sort through basic data-interpretation concepts: measures of central tendency, levels of measurement, measures of dispersion, and graphs. A wide range of organization principles are covered, including mode, median, and mean; discrete and continuous data; nominal, ordinal, interval, and ratio data; standard deviation; and normal distribution. Animation and graphics clarify and reinforce each concept. The video concludes with a quick quiz to assess understanding and focus on key areas. A viewable/printable instructor’s guide is available online. WE DISCUSSED HOW TO DESIGN AN EXPERIMENT AND CONTROL VARIABLES IN OUR FIRST VIDEO. The CASPARS: A Child & Family Assessment
The Clinical Assessment Package for Assessing Client Risks and Strengths (CASPARS) is a set of five instruments that give equal consideration to client strengths and risks. The instruments are unusual in that they yield two scores: a risk score and an asset score. Responsive to the demand for clinical tools that help practitioners focus on client strengths, the instruments guide intervention toward the goals of increasing strengths and decreasing risks. The items of the instruments were developed from in-depth case studies, research and theory on risk and resilience, and the experience of direct practitioners. I tested the CASPARS were tested on a sample of 146 children and their families. The coefficient alphas and inter-rater reliabilities were .9 and above. Item-total analysis suggest good content validity, and construct validities are within acceptable ranges.

The 11 questions in the checklist are designed to help you think about these aspects
systematically.
How to use this appraisal tool: The first three questions (Section A) are screening questions
about the validity of the basic study design and can be answered quickly. If, in light of your
responses to Section A, you think the study design is valid, continue to Section B to assess
whether the study was methodologically sound and if it is worth continuing with the appraisal by
answering the remaining questions in Sections C and D.
Record ‘Yes’, ‘No’ or ‘Can’t tell’ in response to the questions. Prompts below all but one of the
questions highlight the issues it is important to consider. Record the reasons for your answers
in the space provided. As CASP checklists were designed to be used as educational/teaching
tools in a workshop setting, we do not recommend using a scoring system.

Ethics in research is extremely critical to protecting subjects, especially humans from exploitation and harm. Research can sometimes encroach people’s autonomy, lives, and integrity Sanjari, Bahramnezhad, Fomani, Shoghi, & Cheraghi, 2014). Therefore, to mitigate or prevent such effects, the community responsible for providing the standards for conducting research has created various channels, including regulations, ethical code of conduct, formalized ethics requirements within scientific journals, and institutionalized ethics review boards. In this section, the investigator analyses the chapter 5 case study to explore ethical issues faced by action researchers in their study while defining why the results of the study created an ethical dilemma for the action research team. The author also expounds on another way the dilemma could have been solved. The researcher’s belief about the research is analyzed while discussing the roles and responsibilities of a researcher. Further, the investigator analyzes issues of accuracy, informed consent, social principles, and deception in an individual’s ethical belief. Finally, the author expounds on the components of Finders’s (1992 conceptual framework for guiding ethical conduct in a qualitative research mirror the investigator's belief system).
In chapter 5 case study, describe the ethical issue the action researchers faced in their study. Define why the study's results created an ethical dilemma for the action research team and describe another way they could have resolved it.
One of the ethical issues, in this case, is that the research involved minors. In this case, the institutional review board could not rely on the conventional concept of informed concept since such children lack the legal and intellectual capacity to make informed choices in their own right (Behrman, & Field, 2004). Therefore, it could have been prudent to involve parents of such children directly. Teachers could not provide a better answer especially with regards to using computers at home (Mills, 2000). Therefore, to address this problem, it could have been important to allow parents to stand on behalf of their children because of their legal and intellectual capacity to make informed choices.

I believe that research is a systematic inquiry intended to not only describe and explain but also control the phenomenon under observation. It entails both deductive and inductive methods. An inductive method is intended to analyze the phenomenon observed while identifying the general structure, principles, or processes underlying the observed phenomenon. The rationale for the deductive method is to verify the principles hypothesized through observations. As a systematic inquiry, the research explores hypotheses.

Therefore, to mitigate or prevent such effects, the community responsible for providing the standards for conducting research has created various channels, including regulations, ethical code of conduct, formalized ethics requirements within scientific journals, and institutionalized ethics review boards. In this section, the investigator analyses the chapter 5 case study to explore ethical issues faced by action researchers in their study while defining why the results of the study created an ethical dilemma for the action research team. The author also expounds on another way the dilemma could have been solved. The researcher’s belief about the research is analyzed while discussing the roles and responsibilities of a researcher. Further, the investigator analyzes issues of accuracy, informed consent, social principles, and deception in an individual’s ethical belief. Finally, the author expounds on the components of Finders’s (1992 conceptual framework for guiding ethical conduct in a qualitative research mirror the investigator's belief system).
In chapter 5 case study, describe the ethical issue the action researchers faced in their study. Define why the study's results created an ethical dilemma for the action research team and describe another way they could have resolved it.
One of the ethical issues, in this case, is that the research involved minors. In this case, the institutional review board could not rely on the conventional concept of informed concept since such children lack the legal and intellectual capacity to make informed choices in their own right (Behrman, & Field, 2004). Therefore, it could have been prudent to involve parents of such children directly. Teachers could not provide a better answer especially with regards to using computers at home (Mills, 2000). Therefore, to address this problem, it could have been important to allow parents to stand on behalf of their children because of their legal and intellectual capacity to make informed choices.

I believe that research is a systematic inquiry intended to not only describe and explain but also control the phenomenon under observation. It entails both deductive and inductive methods. An inductive method is intended to analyze the phenomenon observed while identifying the general structure, principles, or processes underlying the observed phenomenon. The rationale for the deductive method is to verify the principles hypothesized through observations. As a systematic inquiry, the research explores hypotheses.

Research agenda papers have been a staple of marketing discipline areas approaching intellectual turbulence – for example, stakeholder theory during the Service Dominant Logic era (Hult et al. 2011). This paper contributes to the process of research as an intersection of opportunity and demand – topics are acquired through interest, and agendas driven through identified need. The focus of this work is the assessment and cataloguing research demands – areas and agendas as yet unresolved, and as such, open as an invitation to scholars to pursue. Previously, Dann et al. (2007) outlined a series of research agendas for social, political, non-profit and sustainable marketing. The Social Marketing Agenda identified four items – the need for adapting contemporary marketing; visible boundaries to the social marketing discipline; social marketing specific theory; and, consumer-centric research on the understanding of benefits and value. As part of the contemporary study, the question of whether prior agenda items, have retained currency, proven intractable or met with relative resolution.
