The National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (NJATC) was founded in 1941 by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) and the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) to standardize electrical training. NJATC oversees approximately 285 local apprenticeship committees across the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico. It develops curricula for inside, outside, residential, and installer/technician apprenticeships and provides classroom and on-the-job training to over 100,000 apprentices annually to ensure a highly skilled electrical workforce.
