1. Japan Platform (JPF), launched in August 2000 in pursuit of a synergy among NGO,
GO and private sector, has greatly contributed to consolidating infrastructure for
international humanitarian assistance. The number of member NGOs has increased
from around 10 to 24, and the total amount of grant also grew significantly. In 2006,
JPF made a structural reform by inviting managers of enterprises as directors; thus
strengthened its organizational basis. In my presentation, I will clarify its challenges
ahead of us, reviewing its growth process and political breakthrough needed in some
cases.
