These presentations show the layout of our newsletters we will design. We have each made an individual one therefore it will simplify designing the main one.
The document discusses changes made to magazine layout plans. The masthead was moved to the top to allow for easier image layering. Story text was scattered around and wrapped models to highlight the main image without crowding. Small changes were made but generic conventions were kept. The contents page was difficult to spread across pages so a single page was used, removing some content but adding an editor's column as seen in music magazines. Three students' double page layout designs are then listed.
The document discusses 8 different music artist posters and analyzes aspects of each design including the portrayal of the artist, use of color, fonts, and positioning. Key elements that effectively promote the artist identified across posters include centering the artist as the main focus, using bold colors that match the artist's style, and incorporating the artist's name prominently. Poses or designs that could be seen as overly provocative should generally be avoided.

It also mentions wanting to visit Las Vegas for its lively atmosphere, go on an Africa safari to see animals, and see Barcelona.

The narrator is graduating from high school and deciding whether to continue his education or get a job. His parents only received a few years of primary education due to growing up poor in rural Mexico. They pushed the narrator to study hard so he could achieve more. Though they were strict, a teacher also supported and encouraged the narrator. He decided to go to college, breaking the cycle of lack of opportunities that his family faced previously. This decision will not only help his future but could influence his sisters' decisions as well.
The student created a music magazine called "Unison" as part of an evaluation. They learned how to use Photoshop to design pages, take photos that portrayed artists in certain ways, and conduct an interview following magazine conventions. The student analyzed their own growth in skills like photography, design, and journalism from their initial newsletter to the final magazine product.
The document summarizes the results of a questionnaire given to the target audience for a music video. Most respondents preferred a narrative style music video over live performances. They also indicated that setting is the most important aspect of a music video. Most said they pay attention to the storyline in music videos. The responses will help guide the creation of the indie/folk narrative music video by focusing on clear storyline and settings.

The document provides an in-depth analysis of the layout, design elements, and stylistic choices made in a magazine cover and contents page. Key points analyzed include the placement of images and text, font and color choices, and how these visual elements are used to represent the magazine's brand and target specific audiences. Overall, the document examines how conventional magazine design is implemented while also incorporating unconventional elements to make the issue distinctive.
The document discusses several potential photos for the front cover of a music magazine. The first photo is praised for the subject's pose but criticized for too much clutter in the background. The second photo shows the subject holding a guitar, representing her career in music, but her facial expression is deemed unprofessional. The third photo experiments with a microphone prop but is slightly blurry with a messy background. The fourth photo features a train map and money representing the subject's past as a street performer, clearly showing her success through an earring. The fifth photo receives no criticism for its angle, lighting or background of train station doors with flowers. This fifth photo is selected as the favorite for the magazine cover due to its relaxed, relatable scene
The questionnaire results showed that:
1) Rock music was the most popular genre listened to by respondents.
2) Q Magazine and NME were the most commonly read magazines.
3) Most respondents said they would pay between £2.51-£3.50 for a music magazine.
4) Reviews were the most preferred part of a music magazine to read.
Jasmine Holmes-Parker took photographs of a couple for her school magazine's prom story. She took several photos but one was her favorite as the couple appeared to be enjoying themselves like typical prom attendees. The last photo she took she brightened to make the students stand out more. Overall she felt the photo shoot was a success as she captured a good quality image for the school newsletter and magazine.
The document discusses photos taken for a school newsletter. Several photos of the new head teacher and new school buildings are presented and analyzed. The best photo of the head teacher shows him working at his desk in context. Photos of the buildings were taken at angles to showcase their design and sophistication. Two building photos were selected for the newsletter due to their professional, abstract views.
