ECONOMIC UPDATES
 The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has allowed foreign institutional
investors (FIIs) to invest up to 34% of the paid-up capital in the company
engaged in transport related services business.
 The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the government - wants to curtail
the central bank's powers over currency and money markets. The RBI has
asked the government for more information to figure out the potential
growth rate.
 Foreign exchange reserves rallied to a new life-time high at $338.079
billion, an increase of $3.886 billion in the week to February 27, on
account of higher foreign currency assets.
 The new 10-year benchmark bond, which is considered the key parameter
to price corporate bonds on the Street, is expected to be auctioned in the
first quarter of the new financial year at a coupon rate much below the
existing one.
SEBI/CORPORATE UPDATES
 DLF, India's largest real estate developer, is likely to start selling its
apartments online later this month following an arrangement with e-
tailer Snapdeal.
 Industry body Assocham with a view to tap the huge potential of women
entrepreneurs in India, has suggested the Government to link the
Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) with entrepreneurship
development.
 A special court here is slated to pronounce today the much-awaited
judgement in the multi-crore accounting fraud in erstwhile Satyam
Computer Services Limited (SCSL).
 Preferential equity issuances are likely to hit their lowest mark in five
years if the trend so far in this financial year.
