2nd Session 2
The programme on 29.08.2012 started with
morning assembly by S. R. Ranganathan Group at 3rd Session 2
9 A.M. After that Onam Festival was celebrated by

a traditional song and sweet distribution to all the
participants. Video on traditional dance was
shown by Mr. Mujib Rahima, our resource person
from KV Kanjikode.

1st SESSION OF THE DAY
At 9.30 the session was started by Mr. Vernekar (co-ordinator of our

course) he introduce 3 topics in his session

1. National Knowledge Commission 2005.
2. NCF 2005 and  National
3. UNESCO/ IFLA School Library Manifesto. Knowledge
Commission

In this he enlightened us on knowledge dissemination from
 NCF 2005 and
one source to another. Libraries as gateways to knowledge,
 UNESCO/ IFLA
recommendations and modernizing library management. The whole School Library
lecture was very informative, interesting and resourceful to all of us. Manifesto

2. Second Session
After that New Library Policy 2012 was taken by Mr. DVS Sarma, a resource person. The
session was very interactive followed by exhaustive group discussion and concluded by
suggestions for modifications in new library policy. The practical problem that we are facing
had been discussed and various solutions were given by our learned colleagues.
Third Session
Soon after a nice lunch we had an energetic, informative session on use of
Microsoft power point by Mr. Mujib Rahiman. He explained the basic Terminology,
its application and its various features which can be used in power point

Fourth Session
After a short tea break we went on hand’s on session in computer Lab -2. The lab
was fully epuipped with latest technology. Assignment was given to all the
participants and necessary explanations and help was given by our learned resource
persons to each and every participants for the successful completion of work.
