Valve Group announces the launch of the DFT’s Severe Service HI-100 Control Valve®. This unique design is a
major breakthrough in control valve design and innovation and is now available in Australia!
The flow characteristics of this new valve are significant improvement on traditional globe control valves, and
offers a high pressure recovery factor and inline maintenance.
Available in ASME Class Pressure 150 to 4500 with BW, SW and Flanged end connections. Standard materials
for Power Generation and Paper Mills are forged A105 Carbon Steel and F11/F22/F91 Chrome-moly.

Unlike tortuous path designs, DFT valves manage cavitation by the bubbles forming at the lowest
pressure and highest velocity…the center of the fluid stream. The collapse is within the hydraulic
barrier…
not on metal surfaces, which can destroy the valve.
We believe there are challenges for valves in severe service applications in today’s power generating
plants and paper mills. We offer an alternate proven design for consideration.
The HI-100 Control Valve is a compact design. Valve features an in-line straight-thru venturi flow
design. The control element, a spherical ball, is contained by a cage that positions it relative to the
downstream seat by means of linear stem travel. There are no close clearances between the moving
parts (i.e. cage, ball and seat). These features enable the valve to operate smoothly and efficiently at
high or low temperatures. The Quick Change Trim feature permits in-line replacement of the internal
trim. DFT HI-100 is position-seated design. Globe valves are force seated. Therefore, less actuator
forces are required to operate valve and therefore allows the use of smaller, less expensive actuator
packages.
