This document provides tips for reducing emissions and saving money through sustainable actions like biking or walking instead of driving, adjusting thermostats seasonally, using LED lights, and taking advantage of natural light. It notes that how we use energy impacts the environment by increasing severe weather, disease spread, and coastal flooding. The goal is for UCSB to be carbon neutral by 2025, which it is working towards by installing solar panels to provide 10% of its electricity and reducing gas usage through efficiency efforts. Individual sustainable actions collectively help improve lives.
