WORK EXPERIENCE
Workshop machinery I have operated includes: Lathes, Milling Machines, Shapers,
Surface Grinders, Vertical and Horizontal Borers etc.
My background in Seismic Exploration has been for seven years. I have been employed
by American Companies working in South East Asia. I have been employed as a
mechanic for Land and Marine crews working in shallow and deep water seismic.
My duties and responsibilities while working on land crews have been: Workshop
Supervising, repairs and maintenance of motor vehicles, field equipment, trucks,
generators and an overall upkeep of equipment used by the crews. I have been
responsible for the preparation of base camps and fly camps for the crews, and
Supervisor for field drilling crews.
My duties and responsibilities while working on marine crews has been: Repairs and
maintenance of all equipment used, i.e. – generators, outboard engines, inboard diesel
engines, single propeller and twin propeller work boats, sabre runabouts, flat deck telsis
workboats, repairs on hulls, aluminium and fibre glass and general maintenance to
house boats and barge equipment.
High Pressure Air Guns (5,000 PSI) on marine vessels, including Rebuilding
Maintenance and Troubleshooting of Air Guns from 15 cu in. to 300 cu in. and control
room operation of these guns.
I have experience on barge work holding responsibilities for the safety of men and fire
safety meetings whilst on the crew, also the operating of machinery on barges.
