Dyspraxia Support Teesside is a charity set under
the umbrella of Roseberry Community Consortium
to help local people affected by dyspraxia. We do
this through regular fortnightly meetings and
events to raise awareness
What is dyspraxia?
Dyspraxia is a developmental disorder of the brain
in childhood causing difficulty in activities requiring
coordination and movement. It is regarded as a life
long condition. People affected by Dyspraxia
require support for developing their practical skills
and face everyday life.
Symptoms include: social and emotional difficulties, time
management, memory, space awareness, thought,
speech, and coordination. Dyspraxic people can be more
creative and think outside the box!
Facts about dyspraxia
Only 50% of Teesside population are fully aware of dyspraxia.
10% of UK population have Dyspraxia of which
2%are severly affected by Dyspraxia
Join us on Saturdays every 2 weeks, from 1pm to 3pm at
the ARC Stockton. We are open to people affected by
dyspraxia, their relatives, educational professionals who
want to learn about the condition, and people who just
just want to help out!
Volunteers and members are encouraged to decide what
activities they feel would benefit them. Refreshments,
games, and day trips are among few of them!
Raising awareness of dyspraxia can promote fair
opportunities in education and employment for people
affected. We want to stop stigma and discrimination
regarding dyspraxia and make sure people affected get
the right support.
