the mix, and the fact that many of us are fusing our identities with that of
our employer’s in a public forum. All of a sudden, we are all potential
‘brand ambassadors’.
While some companies were slow to understand this, within the last 5-10
years, many have taken notice—and now we’re seeing more creative, and
more personal-sounding job titles than ever before. So, even if the job
requirements are the same, what was once a Press Officer can now be a
Chief Listening Officer and what was once an Infectious Disease Doctor is
now a “Germ Slayer.”
Here are some job titles that are begging to be explored further
1. IMPLEMENTATION EXPERT

Dubbed a ‘conduit’ between the company and the client, an
Implementation Expert is responsible for identifying a client’s needs. I
have to imagine they are a pro at making clients feel heard and
supported.

2. 2. SCRUM MASTER
Pittsburgh, PA $66,550
A Scrum Master is—you’ve guessed it—a master of Scrum. But, as
someone who had no idea what Scrum was, I was immediately intrigued
by this job title. As it turns out, Scrum is a project management practice
designed to encourage continuous feedback for all team members.
3. CUSTOMER SUCCESS MANAGER
Los Angeles, CA $66,000
While the specifics of this role vary from industry to industry, a Customer
Success Manager always deals in customer retention. They are
responsible for cutting problems off at the pass and making sure
customers are getting what they need from a business. A person looking
to become a CSM should highlight communication skills and leadership
experience.
4. DAYLIGHT SPECIALIST
Stockholm, Sweden $38,264
This is still a bit of a head-scratcher. A Daylight Specialist has been used
to describe everything from a blind and curtain designer, a glass
manufacturer—specifically for telescopes—
5. INFECTION PREVENTIONIST

The title says it all. This person is responsible for preventing and
controlling the spread of infectious diseases, specifically within a hospital
setting.
6. DIRECTOR OF EMAIL DELIVERABILITY
Charlotte, NC $88,000
The process of sending and receiving emails is magical to me. I see it
happening, but if you asked me how it was happening, I would draw a
complete blank. It is thanks to jobs like this, that I can continue to live in
ignorance. This person is in charge of monitoring email
traffic, highlighting best practices, and troubleshooting any email issues.

3. 7. DATA SCIENTIST
Gaithersburg, MD $80,000
This role sounds perfect for someone looking to utilize both sides of their
brain. A Data Scientist analyzes and interprets data, then presents it in a
way that is useful to businesses. This person sounds like the ultimate
pattern detective!
8. PURSUIT AND PROPOSAL SPECIALIST
Houston, TX $59,000
Responsible for driving and coordinating sales, this position oversees the
sales process from start to finish. After looking at a few open job
descriptions, it seems like multi-tasking is the bread and butter of this
position.
9. SITE RELIABILITY ENGINEER
Los Angeles, CA $115,000
Imagine—if you will—a bridge, between a website being developed and a
website being used. Now, imagine this bridge is a person, who cares
deeply about the user experience. You are currently visualizing a Site
Reliability Engineer or SRE. Originally created by Google to make its
search engine more reliable and scalable, this position is a blend of
software engineering and systems analysis.
