This document describes a smart helmet system for bike riders that aims to increase safety. The system uses sensors to check if the rider is wearing a helmet and has not consumed alcohol before allowing the bike to start. It also alerts the rider if any obstacles are too close and informs family members by SMS if an accident is detected. The system blocks bike startup if the helmet or alcohol checks fail. It determines accident occurrence using an accelerometer. Wireless communication between the helmet and bike is enabled by an Arduino microcontroller, IR sensors, gas sensors, ultrasonic sensors, GPS and GSM modules. The system aims to reduce accidents by enforcing safety protocols and alerting emergency contacts if needed.
