The Checklist
Become a member of Adam & Luna's family
Benefits
The road is long but the benefits are great to becoming a
Teacher in our family. These include:
• Equal equity ownership
• Equal voting rights
These benefits will be provided until you're gone, either from
this family or this life. After that, your benefits will be
reabsorbed and distributed evenly amongst the Teachers.
Trust Gateway
There is a trust gateway that everyone must pass through
before becoming a member of our family. This gateway lasts
90 days, and during that period, we will determine if you fit
our family values and also the value you contribute.
At the end of this period, the current Adam & Luna Teachers
will assign you one of three levels of membership based upon
the skill level you've shown in one of two tracks. Together we
will build your Checklist, outlining specifically what you
must do to reach higher levels of membership while
developing your skills in both tracks.
2 Tracks
There are two tracks that your skills can develop through as
part of our family. Mastering both takes a lifetime, and we
believe that this is what creates true wisdom and respect:
• Artist
• Engineer
Artists may be focused on anything creative, whether that's
writing, drawing, storytelling, or business development. If
you're working on something with an unknown correct
answer and beauty is in the eye of the beholder, then you're
operating in a Artistic capacity.
Engineers may be focused on anything logical, whether that's
engineering, mathematics, mechanical, or financial. If you're
working on something that has a very clear correct or
incorrect answer, you're operating in a Engineering capacity.
Only two Polymathic individuals have ever reached the
highest levels of both Artistry and Engineering. If you do the
same, as voted unanimously by all Teachers within the
family, your name will be placed on the official masthead
alongside both Adam & Luna forever. It will contain the story
of not just who you are, but also what you've left behind, and
will be told by future members for generations after.
Member Class Checklists
Below are the membership classes that people in the Adam &
Luna family grow through:
1. Apprentice
2. Craftsman
3. Teacher
4. Polymath
At any time, any family member may request a review of
their personalized checklist to move up within their current
class or move between classes. A majority vote by Teachers is
required for a member to move into an Apprentice or
Craftsman class, but a unanimous vote is required for a
member to move into a Teacher or Polymathic class.
Apprentice
An Apprentice should show the following characteristics on a
daily basis:
• Track record of empathy
• Potential and continuous improvement in Artistry or
Engineering
• Describe his or her One Want in a simple and specific way
One Want Definition
Every main character in a story has one want. It's something
simple. And it's what drives every action that character
makes.
Craftsman
A Craftsman should show the following characteristics on a
daily basis:
• Go the Last 3% at the highest level of quality in a chosen
discipline
• Mentor one Apprentice towards becoming a Craftsman
• Seek continuous improvement in the chosen track and be
mentored by someone in an opposing track
Teacher
A Teacher should show the following characteristics on a
daily basis:
• Meet the requirements of both the Apprentice and
Craftsman
• The value you create is greater than the ownership dilution
you cause
• Focused on Adam & Luna full time
• Mentor one Craftsman in an opposing track
• Half the time is spent developing relationships with other
families outside Adam & Luna
• Skill set is not overly redundant with other Teachers,
especially if within the same track (e.g., Story Artist and
Concept Artist are not overly redundant)
Value Creation Versus Dilution Example
If there are 3 Teachers who each represent 33% of Adam &
Luna, then each one of them must agree that giving up 8% of
their ownership is worth it because you're creating much
more value than that 8% in return. Then, all 4 members will
own an equal 25%.
Polymath
A Polymath should show the following characteristics on a
daily basis:
• Meet the requirements of Apprentice, Craftsman, and
Teacher in both tracks: Artistry and Engineering
Reduction in Member Class
If anyone in the Adam & Luna family ceases to meet the
requirements outlined in their member class, the other core
family members may vote to reduce that person's class.
We act by one strong philosophy:
"Alone we survive, together we thrive."
But in the extreme case of someone breaking the family's
trust or not treating other family members with respect, that
person will be asked to leave the family, after a majority vote
by the Teachers, forfeiting all rights and benefits.
Teams
All family members must be on at least one, but no more
than three teams. For each project (determined by a majority
vote of Teachers), teams must consist of the following:
• Both Artists and Engineers
• The leader must have shown a track record of success
leading a team in that same area of discipline as
determined by a majority vote of other Teachers
Communication between teams should happen organically
by virtue of having multiple members on multiple teams. Use
your daily team conversations to keep everyone on the same
page.
Side Projects
Side projects are the lifeblood of future innovation. Don't
ask, just create. You own the intellectual property. In fact, if
you quit to work on your idea full-time, the family will
continue to support you.
All the family asks is that you consider how your side project
might also benefit the family in the long run. Often the
resources and skills within the family could be the edge
needed for success. If you can recruit 3 family members to
join your quest, then the family must pursue this project as a
viable option.

  • 1. The Checklist Become a member of Adam & Luna's family
  • 2. Benefits The road is long but the benefits are great to becoming a Teacher in our family. These include: • Equal equity ownership • Equal voting rights These benefits will be provided until you're gone, either from this family or this life. After that, your benefits will be reabsorbed and distributed evenly amongst the Teachers. Trust Gateway There is a trust gateway that everyone must pass through before becoming a member of our family. This gateway lasts 90 days, and during that period, we will determine if you fit our family values and also the value you contribute. At the end of this period, the current Adam & Luna Teachers will assign you one of three levels of membership based upon the skill level you've shown in one of two tracks. Together we will build your Checklist, outlining specifically what you must do to reach higher levels of membership while developing your skills in both tracks.
  • 3. 2 Tracks There are two tracks that your skills can develop through as part of our family. Mastering both takes a lifetime, and we believe that this is what creates true wisdom and respect: • Artist • Engineer Artists may be focused on anything creative, whether that's writing, drawing, storytelling, or business development. If you're working on something with an unknown correct answer and beauty is in the eye of the beholder, then you're operating in a Artistic capacity. Engineers may be focused on anything logical, whether that's engineering, mathematics, mechanical, or financial. If you're working on something that has a very clear correct or incorrect answer, you're operating in a Engineering capacity. Only two Polymathic individuals have ever reached the highest levels of both Artistry and Engineering. If you do the same, as voted unanimously by all Teachers within the family, your name will be placed on the official masthead alongside both Adam & Luna forever. It will contain the story of not just who you are, but also what you've left behind, and will be told by future members for generations after.
  • 4. Member Class Checklists Below are the membership classes that people in the Adam & Luna family grow through: 1. Apprentice 2. Craftsman 3. Teacher 4. Polymath At any time, any family member may request a review of their personalized checklist to move up within their current class or move between classes. A majority vote by Teachers is required for a member to move into an Apprentice or Craftsman class, but a unanimous vote is required for a member to move into a Teacher or Polymathic class. Apprentice An Apprentice should show the following characteristics on a daily basis: • Track record of empathy • Potential and continuous improvement in Artistry or Engineering • Describe his or her One Want in a simple and specific way One Want Definition Every main character in a story has one want. It's something simple. And it's what drives every action that character makes.

Craftsman A Craftsman should show the following characteristics on a daily basis: • Go the Last 3% at the highest level of quality in a chosen discipline • Mentor one Apprentice towards becoming a Craftsman • Seek continuous improvement in the chosen track and be mentored by someone in an opposing track Teacher A Teacher should show the following characteristics on a daily basis: • Meet the requirements of both the Apprentice and Craftsman • The value you create is greater than the ownership dilution you cause • Focused on Adam & Luna full time • Mentor one Craftsman in an opposing track • Half the time is spent developing relationships with other families outside Adam & Luna • Skill set is not overly redundant with other Teachers, especially if within the same track (e.g., Story Artist and Concept Artist are not overly redundant) Value Creation Versus Dilution Example If there are 3 Teachers who each represent 33% of Adam & Luna, then each one of them must agree that giving up 8% of their ownership is worth it because you're creating much more value than that 8% in return. Then, all 4 members will own an equal 25%.

Polymath A Polymath should show the following characteristics on a daily basis: • Meet the requirements of Apprentice, Craftsman, and Teacher in both tracks: Artistry and Engineering Reduction in Member Class If anyone in the Adam & Luna family ceases to meet the requirements outlined in their member class, the other core family members may vote to reduce that person's class. We act by one strong philosophy: "Alone we survive, together we thrive." But in the extreme case of someone breaking the family's trust or not treating other family members with respect, that person will be asked to leave the family, after a majority vote by the Teachers, forfeiting all rights and benefits.
  • 7. Teams All family members must be on at least one, but no more than three teams. For each project (determined by a majority vote of Teachers), teams must consist of the following: • Both Artists and Engineers • The leader must have shown a track record of success leading a team in that same area of discipline as determined by a majority vote of other Teachers Communication between teams should happen organically by virtue of having multiple members on multiple teams. Use your daily team conversations to keep everyone on the same page. Side Projects Side projects are the lifeblood of future innovation. Don't ask, just create. You own the intellectual property. In fact, if you quit to work on your idea full-time, the family will continue to support you. All the family asks is that you consider how your side project might also benefit the family in the long run. Often the resources and skills within the family could be the edge needed for success. If you can recruit 3 family members to join your quest, then the family must pursue this project as a viable option.
