11. 3 Maintaining Good Medical Practice
Dr Mohammed Mohammed Fouad Abdulatef takes full responsibility for
keeping up to date in his own specialty, that being orthopaedics. He has
displayed over the years an intense interest in research, publication and
presentations. He has published more than 30 scientific papers in various
journals including scientific publications in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the United
Arab Emirates. His work has covered the full gamut of orthopaedic and trauma
and includes papers on infection, intramedullary nailing, fractures, treatment of
hallux valgus, introducing new techniques for ankle instability and he has

Dr Mohammed Mohammed Fouad Abdulatef further maintains his good
medical practice by membership of various societies including AO.

that potential to teach and train his junior staff in all of the posts that he has
held including those at his University Hospital, the post he had in Saudi Arabia
and now the post in United Arab Emirates. He is able to teach and train
effectively at all levels of undergraduate and post graduate education. This has
been displayed in his present job where he acts as the leader and co-ordinator
for the Dubai Orthopaedic Club. Dr Mohammed Mohammed Fouad Abdulatef
arranges meetings on at least a monthly basis. They are attended by numerous
orthopaedic surgeons from all parts of the Emirates. Guest speakers are invited
and discussions take place to help further dispersion of knowledge amongst
those orthopaedic surgeons.

competence and professional attitudes as displayed by other people and able
to help and guide those who do not have sufficient competence to progress in
their chosen career.

would act in other way in his personal and professional than to maintain public
trust in the medical profession. I believe that he is diligent in writing reports,
giving evidence and completing and signing documents in a timely, honest and
conscientious manner. Finally I believe that through his leadership he
encourages others and helps them improve their practice and consequently
