Professional Summary:
•1 Since the residency programme of Alexandria University at the
Neurosurgery Department I have been able to learn, observe, study and later
master a diversity of surgical procedures for various pathological entities in
the practice of neurosurgery.
•2 Over ten years of experience in management of congenital anomalies, special
interest in pediatric neurosurgery.
•3 Extensive experience in traumatic brain injury from both medical & surgical
domains.
•4 Especially interested in microdiscectomy procedures since the mid ninety’s.

1- On-Call Schedule:-
I have carried over 90 calls in the past year. My duties include admitting
and managing different neurosurgical pathologies, including and not limited
to Traumatic Brain Injuries, Aneurysmal SAH, Brain Tumours,
Intracerebral bleeds…etc. in both adults & pediatric age group.
It also includes full work up of different patients, including medical decision
making as whether the case requires ICP monitor installation or the case
requires prompt surgical intervention.
2- Out Patient Clinic:-
I carry out a regular Tuesday PM clinic in which different new and
established neurosurgical cases are being reviewed, examined and
investigated.
I do open special clinics during the week for urgent or selected referrals that
need to be seen outside the booked clinic & list.
3- Surgery:-
I am allowed to perform few procedures supervised by the Consultants, I am
regularly assisting both: Dr. Venne in his Cranial cases – sharing as well
with Dr. Mansour various spinal procedures including minimal invasive
spine surgery.
4- Scientic and Academic activities:-
I am a regular contributor to the following academic meetings:-
o Neuro Club
o Abu Dhabi Control Club
o Infections Control Club
o Emirates Neuroscience Meetings
During the past couple of years I was able to conduct the following papers:
o Efficacy of Antimicrobial Impregnated external ventricular drain
catheters. A prospective randomized control trial presented to ENS
