this time of year is exceedingly chilly.
Kathmandu is the top tourist destination in Nepal.
One of the nicest cities to visit in Nepal is Kathmandu, which is also its capital. Kathmandu
is a lovely place to see because to the vibrant monasteries and the highland regions. One of

"Monkey Temple" because of the cheeky monkeys who live close to the temples. A UNESCO
World Heritage Site, Kathmandu Durbar Square is one of the city's most important
historical sites. This representation of Nepal's ancient architecture and lengthy history
offers a glimpse into the regal rulers' way of life. Another UNESCO World Heritage
landmark in Kathmandu is the Boudhanath Stupa.
Each shape of the stupa, a significant location in Buddhism, represents one of the five
elements: fire, water, air, earth, or space. This white-domed, 36-meter-tall stupa dominates
Kathmandu's skyline and provides calm, serene surroundings to those seeking peace. One

Temple. It draws thousands of worshipers and is situated on the banks of the Bhagmati
River.

#2 of the places to see in Nepal is Lumbini
One of the most well-known tourist destinations in Nepal is Lumbini. Lumbini, known as

Temple, Niglihawa, Sagarhawa, Lumbini Museum, Ramgram Stupa, Bodhi tree Pushkarini,
Kapilvastu, and Aroarakot are a few of Lumbini's top tourist destinations. Another well-
known tourist attraction is the World Peace Pagoda, which has a sizable statue of Lord
Buddha who is grinning. The World Peace Pagoda, also known as the "Japan Peace Stupa,"
was erected in the early twenty-first century by Japanese Buddhists. Large monolithic
figures of Buddha and mediaeval architecture are distinctive features of Lumbini's temples.
Emperor Ashoka constructed the Ashoka Pillar in the third century when he travelled to
Nepal and converted to Buddhism following the Kalinga war. The Maya Devi Temple, which
draws countless followers, honours the supposed location of the Buddha's birth. A holy
pool is located south of the temple and is thought to have been where Maya Devi washed
before giving birth.

Getting to Chitwan
The largest city in Chitwan, Bharatpur, is located 80 miles from Pokhara and 93 miles from
Kathmandu. From Kathmandu or Pokhara, you can either take a bus or a taxi to Chitwan.
Pokhara
One of the most stunning tourist destinations in Nepal is Pokhara. The main draws of this
adventure capital of Nepal include lakes, sacred caves, unspoiled mountain panoramas,
natural waterfalls, and adventure ports. Numerous hiking trails, including the Annapurna
Circuit, have it as their starting point. A beautiful reflection of Mount Machhapuchhre, the
Annapurna, and the Dhaulagiri ranges may be seen in the Phewa Lake. A person can rent a
colourful boat called a "doonga" and have a leisurely cruise through the lake. The distance
from Chipledhunga, the city's centre, to the Tal Barahi Temple, which is located on an
island in the lake, is 4 kilometres. Sarangkot Hill, which situated on the outskirts of
Pokhara, provides breathtaking all-encompassing views over the Pokhara Valley.
The Pokhara Shanti Stupa, or World Peace Pagoda, which is perched atop Anadu Hill, offers
a clear view of the Himalayan Mountains. To get to the stupa, you must ascend 500 steps.
One of the most daring things to do in Pokhara is paragliding. An outstanding collection of
artefacts, authentic equipment, and images of the mountains, their inhabitants, and the
explorers who have scaled some of the highest peaks in the world may be found at the
International Mountaineering Museum.
Getting to Pokhara
Domestic airport exists in Pokhara. The majority of tourists chose to travel the more than
210 kilometres from Kathmandu to Pokhara.
Bhaktapur
Within the Kathmandu valley, some 15 kilometres outside of the capital, Bhaktapur is a
historic city. Described as an "open-air museum," it is a must-see location in Nepal because
of its temples, historical artefacts, Newari art, traditional woodcarving, ceramics, weaving,
sculptures, and architecture. It is just 6.9 sq km in size. Along with various temples, the
main 55-window Royal Palace inside the area serves as its primary point of interest. When
it comes to historical and cultural monuments, it is one of the top cities in Nepal.
The 2015 earthquake devastated several of these locations. Nevertheless, there has been a
lot of progress and several locations have undergone restoration. One of Nepal's most
valued artefacts is the Peacock Window. The 15th century saw the creation of the ornately
carved wooden window. One of Bhaktapur's top attractions is the National Art Gallery,
which houses manuscripts on palm leaves, Buddhist thangkas, and cloth paintings. It also
features relics from the 12th century composed of wood, stone, and metal. Visit Nyatapola,
which is nearly 30 metres tall and is Nepal's highest temple. Siddhi Laxmi, a manifestation
of the goddess Durga, is the focus of the shrine.
Bhupatindra Malla constructed the stunning pagoda-style temple at Taumadhi Square in
the year 1702 AD. Nyatapola contains 180 carved wooden struts with eight fortunate
symbols in accordance with Newari customs. It was built with bricks and wood. It was
designated a World Heritage Site in 1979. Bhaktapur is frequently referred to be a city of
"living heritage" because it is home to over 130 historic sites. Buy ceramics, puppets, and
other items from Bhaktapur.
Getting to Bhaktapur
From Kathmandu and other areas of the Kathmandu Valley, Bhaktapur is a simple drive
away. Between Kathmandu to Bhaktapur, there are many buses.
Janakpur
About 225 kilometres southeast of Kathmandu is Janakpur, sometimes referred to as
Janakpur Dham. It is well-known for being Sita's birthplace and the location of her
marriage to Lord Rama. The city is the centre of the Mithila civilization and one of the
holiest sites for Hindu visitors. The Terai district's Janakpur is often referred as the "City of
Ponds." It features more than 70 water ponds. The area is a fusion of several religious
cultures, and Janaki Mandir is Nepal's biggest temple complex. The white marble has a
dome & columns that make it look like a palace. With elaborate lattice windows, stained
glass, sculptures, and paintings, it contains 60 rooms.
Another significant temple in Janakpur is Ram Mandir. The most revered ponds in the area,
Ganga Sagar & Dhanush Sagar, should not be missed. Lord Ram & Sita were married at Ram
Mandap. It is a classic pagoda-roofed building in the Nepali style that is made completely of
marble. Hindu believers say that Lord Ram shattered Shiva's divine bow in Dhanush Dham,
which is about 13 km northeast of Janakpur, in order to win Sita's hand in marriage.
Getting to Janakpur
From Kathmandu, there are daily flights to Janakpur. About 390 kilometres and a 10-hour
travel separate Janakpur from Kathmandu. The Central Bus Station in Kathmandu is where
buses depart for the district headquarters of Janakpur City.
Mustang
Mustang is frequently referred to as Nepal's "Mini Tibet." Lower Mustang and Upper
Mustang are the two portions of the 3,840 km-high Mustang. While Upper Mustang is
recognised for its hiking and trekking trails, monasteries, caverns, and indigenous cultures,
Lower Mustang is known for its stunning natural landscape. One of the holiest and most
well-known temples in the world, the Muktinath Temple (dedicated to Lord Vishnu), is a
must-see in Mustang. The shrine has 108 ice-cold water faucets. To fulfil their goals, people
bathe in holy water here. Near a height of 3,710 metres, the temple can be found at the base
of the Thorong La mountain pass.
A little community called Kagbeni is well-known for its apple orchard and historic
monastery. Foreigners were not allowed in the Upper Mustang until 1991. To visit the
location nowadays, they must obtain permits. A remote and independent Tibetan
monarchy formerly existed in the Nepalese district of Mustang. Thorong La, the world's
highest mountain pass at 5,416 metres, is open to exploration for the adventurous
traveller. The Annapurna Circuit's highest peak is located there as well.
How to reach Mustang
Take a flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara to get to Mustang. Take a cab, bus, or rent a bike
to go to Pokhara from Pokhara. The Lo Kingdom's entry point in Upper Mustang, Jomsom,
can be reached on the Prithvi Highway in 6 to 8 hours.
Mount Everest
For adventure and hiking fans, the Everest base camp is one of the most well-known
destinations in Nepal. You can trek to the Everest Base Camp, which is located 5,600 metres
from Mount Everest. It is one of the most well-liked treks in the world and is additionally
known as the Gateway to Everest.
The journey starts at the airport in Lukla and ascends along the Dudh Koshi River to
Namche Bazaar, a small town at the greatest altitude. Days are spent trekking to the Base
Camp, passing through Syangboche, Tengboche, and Dingboche while taking in
breathtaking views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and Everest. While staying in hilltop
communities, you may experience Sherpa culture in addition to the exhilarating treks and
mountain monasteries. Don't forget to take pictures of the tallest mountain in the world
from the Kala Patthar vantage point.
Getting to Everest Base Camp
Tourists who want to shorten the 12-day walk to the Everest Base Camp frequently take
Everest helicopter tours in Nepal.
Everest Base Camp can be reached in one of two methods. Take a bus from Kathmandu to
Jiri, then a trek that lasts around 21 days (referred to as the "Walk In"), or take an
aeroplane from Kathmandu to Lukla, then a trip that lasts 14 days (referred to as the "Fly
In").
Sagarmatha National Park
A protected area for wildlife, the Sagarmatha National Park is encircled by the towering
Mount Everest, steep gorges, and Himalayan glaciers. This wildlife reserve, which is 135
kilometres from Kathmandu, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Nepali name for Mount
Everest is Sagarmatha. The Himalayan Tahr, musk deer, snow leopards, wolves, lynx, and
weasels can all be seen here. Over a thousand rare or endangered bird species, such as the
Himalayan monal, snowcock, yellow-billed chough, blood pheasant, and red-billed chough,
can be found in the Sagarmatha National Park. Mountain climbers can enjoy a thrilling
experience at Sagarmatha National Park, the highest national park in the world.
The seven peaks of Everest, which rise 3,000 metres above sea level, are the main draws.
The lower zone of the park includes a diverse range of vegetation and wildlife, whereas the
higher zone is deserted. The park is home to Tibetan Buddhist Sherpas, whose culture is
represented by the monasteries, prayer flags, and outer walls of the area.
Entry costs for visitors from SAARC nations are Rs 1,500 per person, per entry.
Directions to Sagarmatha National Park
The final route leading to Sagarmatha National Park passes via the town of Jiri. Take a bus
from Kathmandu to Jiri.
