Share.TEC second workshop: capturing user´s perspectives, G. OlimpoShare.TEC
This document provides information about the Share.TEC Second Workshop held in Dublin from 8-10 June 2009. The workshop aimed to capture users' perspectives on the Share.TEC project, which is an EU-funded initiative to build a system for sharing digital teacher education content across Europe. The workshop brought together teacher educators, teachers, content providers, and publishers to discuss Share.TEC's goals and gather feedback from potential users on their needs and visions. Presentations were given on an overview of the Share.TEC project, the features and functions of the Share.TEC system for end-users, and use scenarios targeting different user groups.
Modern repositories for storage of scientific information, K. StefanovShare.TEC
The document discusses digital libraries and repositories for storing scientific information. It describes their main functions such as collecting and curating digital collections, managing research activities, and sharing information. It also covers issues around collecting and sharing content, metadata standards, the Open Access Initiative, and protocols like OAI-PMH that allow interoperability between repositories.
Current directions in educational repositories, P.Mc AndrewShare.TEC
Patrick McAndrew discusses various traps that educational repositories can fall into, including focusing too much on search functionality, metadata, audience size, and technical systems. He recommends being open, allowing participation, involving experts and users, keeping things simple, building on others' work, and asking the right questions rather than seeking unattainable goals. Educational repositories should learn from the past without reinventing wheels and focus on openness, routes for participation, and testing new ideas.
Current directions in educational repositories, Vanasche Share.TEC
The document discusses educational resource repositories and the European Schoolnet's Learning Resource Exchange (LRE). It describes how the LRE originally aimed to create a federated search of repositories but faced challenges. However, it saw unexpected positive outcomes like the adoption of its application profile. The LRE public portal launched in 2008 and provided access to over 130,000 resources. Issues discussed include national vs. European approaches and ensuring quality and relevance of learning objects.
Share.TEC-an overview of the project, G. Olimpo, S. BocconiShare.TEC
The document provides an overview of the Share.TEC project, which aims to:
1) Unlock and share teacher education resources across borders by connecting existing repositories and networks.
2) Build a sustainable teacher education hub that is user-adaptive, multilingual, and can grow its collection over time by harvesting content from other sources.
3) Bridge cultural differences in education by facilitating the exchange of resources, expertise, and connections between teachers across Europe.
Share.TEC dissemination activities 2009, E. AxdorphShare.TEC
This document discusses the dissemination activities of the Share.TEC project. It outlines the objectives of raising visibility, activating a European network, and ensuring sustainable expansion of the project's system. It describes dissemination through a logotype, website, graphical profile, dissemination kit, and upcoming events. Challenges mentioned are disseminating an incomplete product and timing the product launch for sustainability. The document provides details on the Share.TEC website, graphical profile, dissemination kit, and upcoming dissemination events.

Share.TEC presentation at EdReNe expert workshop, J. EarpShare.TEC
Share.TEC is a project that aims to facilitate sharing of digital resources in teacher education by providing unified access to resources from different repositories. It collects metadata about resources like lesson plans and teaching materials from various European sources using standards. Its goals are to support innovation in teacher education by allowing access to and sharing of resources. It is developing tools to allow specialized searching, personalization, and sharing of experiences. It is currently validating a prototype and generating metadata from partner repositories.
The document discusses developing a system called Share.TEC to meet the needs of target users. It identifies the main users as teacher educators, students, educational publishers, and content providers. It describes their needs, such as accessing content for teaching or sharing resources. The document proposes defining the system's services through use cases and scenarios and obtaining feedback to validate and refine the use cases.
Teacher educators were asked about their needs for digital materials through a focus group. They search for materials like lesson plans, activities and research to update their courses. They find materials online through searches and save them to their personal computers or institution servers. However, quality can vary and materials become outdated quickly. They are open to sharing materials but need to prepare them for wider audiences. They also want to participate in more online communities for teacher educators at a European level.
