Santa Clara County Fire Department uses HERE map data to route fire trucks to emergency calls. However, accessing rural homes can be difficult if driveways and access roads are not included in the maps. The Fire Department worked with HERE to directly upload their data on rural driveways and access points via HERE's upload portal. This additional data makes emergency routing to rural homes clearer and helps fire trucks efficiently reach calls. Going forward, continued maintenance through HERE's Map Creator will help keep maps accurate.

This document describes a geospatial analysis of the association between chronic kidney disease (CKD) and organochlorine pesticide (OCP) contaminated groundwater in rural North Dakota. The study analyzed OCP levels in private water wells in rural ND counties from 1997-2019 and compared CKD incidence rates between rural and urban populations from 1999-2019 using data from the US Renal Data System. Descriptive statistics and geospatial analysis techniques like inverse distance weighting and Gettis-Ord Gi* were used to analyze the relationships between OCP levels, location, and CKD rates while accounting for covariates like age, sex, race, and comorbidities. This graduate case study analyzes a large rotational slump in North Dakota through geological, soil, and economic perspectives. Drone and geospatial analysis were used to morphologically describe the slump and estimate an impacted area of 4,722 sqm and displaced soil volume of 26,903 cu m. Laboratory particle size analysis found higher silt and clay content than field observations. The slump was likely caused by interaction of loose sediments and groundwater flow in geologically unstable sediments. The estimated economic loss to the farmer was $26,000.

The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.
