With every passing day, organizations are becoming more and more mindful about the performance of their Software Products. However, most of them still on look-out for the basics of Performance Engineering.
According to a recent study by Gartner, fixing performance defects near the end of the development cycle costs 50 to 100 times more than the cost required for fixing it during the early phase of development. Hence, if a product suffers from serious performance issues it can be completely scrapped.
Performance Engineering ensures that your application is performing as per expectations and the software is tested and tuned to meet specified or even the unstated performance requirements.
We present you with a webcast on Performance Engineering Basics that would walk you through the elements and process of performance engineering, and also offers a methodical process for the same.
It also offers details on a load testing tool, and describes how best to utilize it.

includes the processes and procedures required to recover Dell IT
infrastructure and all mission-critical and mission essential applications.
Incorporate continuous availability wherever possible, automatic fail-
over, and replication of data Mission critical processes are those which
have an immediate impact on Dell's ability to: • Take and process
orders • Build products • Ship products • Service customers • Provide a
positive customer experience The Recovery Time Objective (RTO) is
one to four (1-4) hours or less for 100% recovery • To develop system
architectures for Applications that decrease the occurrences and
recovery times of application outages while supporting survivability in
the event of a facility disaster. • To increase the overall availability of
applications improves Customer Experience by supporting the drive
towards zero application downtime. • To decrease the cost and
complexity of Disaster Recovery (DR) and High Availability (HA) by

PROTOCOL STACK c. CENTRAL DATABASE d. OPERATION &
MAINTENANCE (OMR) e. DOPRA I had to setup the lab (SUT) and
load all the softwares of the above modules and load the test tools and
testing equipments like VOIP phones etc., I wrote Test cases for the
OMR which is a GUI based online tool. I had to test the different
protocols like SIP, MGCP and H.323 along with OMR. Apart from the
System Testing and Acceptance testing we had to do Smoke Testing
and Regression Testing in each of the above testing phases.

12. DATA STRUCTURES AND FILE SYSTEM FOR DOPRA VOS VIRTUAL OPERATING SYSTEM
Description
This project is to develop VOS a virtual operating system, which
provides general operating system services, abstracting the underlying
commercial operating system such as VxWorks, PSOS, UNIX, or
Windows NT. It provides excellent performance and plenty of debug
methods. The VOS provides a unified API to the Upper Layer Modules,
it separates the details and the differences of the substrate OS. It
realizes most of the function of a real-time operation system, including:
memory manager, task manager, event manager, semaphore manager,
message queue manager, timer manager etc. And it would provide the
debug APIs for upper module. My Role was to code and write Unit Test
plan to test the API's provided by VOS for DATA STRUCTURES AND
FILE SYSTEM.

13. Windows RTP
Description
WinRTP is implemented as an ActiveX component using Microsoft
Visual C++. WinRTP can support different codecs, including some high
bit-rate audio codecs (in future) which will provide it with an edge over
standard telephones. It can do the following: • Capture audio from the
7. user's microphone • Convert sampled audio into other formats • Send
encoded audio to a predefined destination IP address as an RTP
stream • Receive RTP stream audio from the network and play it
through the speaker of the local machine • Play an audio file from disk
to the local speaker and/or send it as an audio stream over the network
• Play sounds like dial tone, DTMF tones and other sounds locally in
response to events like the user picking up the phone, pressing a
number on the keypad etc. My Role was to test if the media was
transferred properly and all the packets were received at the other end
without errors and to do Integeration Testing of RTP with MGCP
simulator. RTP streams need to be transferred over MGCP simulator.

14. MGCP Simulator
Description
The MGCP Basic Call simulation server is a process running in the test
farm which will communicate with the SUT over MGCP and act like a
Media Gateway to the SUT. It shall read a configuration file on startup
and create the specified number of endpoints. This process will initialize
and maintain the state of these endpoints based on MGCP commands
from SUT. The server shall also allow test clients to connect to it to
control an endpoint's behavior based on commands in testscripts. The
Server shall also use servides from RTP test server to verify RTP voice
path. The main components of MGCP Basic Call Simulation Server are
: • MGCP core stack • MGCP Endpoint Machine Engine • Test Script
Comm System • Rtp Server Comm System
