5-year-old Natia and her family fled Tbilisi, Georgia, when the country was caught in the middle of a civil war. She had just turned 13, and they all moved to Madrid, Spain.
There she grew up, finished her studies, and now has a good job as an ocular prosthetic designer – her dream job ever since she found out she had a thing for all things
ocular. She has an idealization of both Georgia and life there. Natia thinks that after the war things got better and the past doesn’t outweigh the present in her birth country.
In her childhood years in Tbilisi she was very reserved, but had a strong connexion with her friend Otson, who did never leave Georgia at any point. They had never
contacted each other since. On top of that, it was her grandma Natela who took care of her most of the time while her parents were at work all day long. She had and still
has a strong feeling for both of her grandparents. Her now long deceased granddad taught her a lot about culture, religion and manners.
Natela is in her early 70s and lives in Tbilisi on her own. Unfortunately, Natela has been really ill for the past year and Natia’s mom, Mariam, left Spain and moved to Tbilisi
to take care of her. Mariam spoke with Natia and convinced her to take one week off work and go to Tbilisi to see her grandma as it might be the last opportunity she has to
see her. To conclude, the main objective Natia has at the beginning of the film is to go to Tbilisi in order to see her grandma one last time.
Natela
Female, aged 70 to 90 from Tbilisi, Georgian, main role, unpaid role

She’s in her mid 80s. She got married at the age of 14 to her late husband. She holds a secret related to her marriage that will cause a before and after both in the film and
in Natia's point of view. After her husband died, she lived one year by herself in Tbilisi and got really ill. Otson visits her on a regular basis and has been taking care of her
during this time. A few months ago Natela’s daughter and Natia’s mother, Mariam, left Spain temporarily for Tbilisi in order to take care of her. But she’s not getting any
better. Any day can be her last.

He’s 25 and lives on his own in Tbilisi. Most of his family moved to Italy and since Natia and her family left for Spain he became really close to Natia’s grandma,
Natela. He graduated in Film a year ago, but because of the political and economic situation going on in the country, he is unable to find a job. He’s going through
a moment in his life in which he feels blocked and stuck. He’s a passionate, curious and mysterious person who, like most of the younger generation of Georgians
in their mid 20s, questions himself what the future holds in store and what will happen with his country. His childhood's closest friend was Natia, and even though
they lost contact and they haven't heard from each other, she had been really present in his mind throughout all these years. He spends most of the days looking
after Natela, watching Tarkovsky’s films and smoking cigarettes while trying to understand the meaning of life.
Mariam
Feale, aged 50 to 60 from Tbilisi, Georgian, main role, unpaid role
• Minimum Acting experience: Some previous acting experience
• Ethnicity: White / Caucasian
• Skin colour: White
• Languages: English, Georgian
• Accents: UK English
She’s in her late 50s. She’s the mother of our main character Natia. She left Georgia for Spain seeking a better life in between the civil war with her husband and
daughter Natia. She’s a fighter as most Georgian women are. She remembers those days during the war where she used powdered milk and sweeteners instead
of fresh milk and sugar to bake Natia's cake on her birthday. She’s really aware of the situation going on in her country and has all Georgians down as magicians
because whenever they lost all they always came up with something and pulled through. Unlike her who comes from a humble family, her husband earns good
money and has good properties. Her mother Natela and her late father didn’t want to flee with them because they were too old and didn’t want to leave home,
