NASA announces flying suit NASA has announced they are working on a personal flying suit. The flying device is known as the Puffin. Designs for the suit were introduced by Mark D. Moore, an aerospace engineer at the NASA Langley Research Center. The Puffin is designed to be 12 feet in length, with a total weight of about 300 pounds. Two major factors distinguish the Puffin from a jetpack. First, the suit is self contained. You are entirely covered by the suit. Second, the Puffin is designed to be powered by electric motors. At the moment, the Puffin is a work in progress. The best uses for the suit would be for military purposes and rescue operations.
