1. KANSAS CITY, Mo. – After holding off Florida Tech in
overtime Saturday, Florida Southern holds onto the
nation’s top ranking for the second consecutive week
in the latestNABC/Division II rankings.
The Moccasins picked up a pair of wins lastweek –
including the 82-79 win at Florida Tech – to stay atop
a poll that saw limited change on the top end. The
top three spots wentunchanged,as Augustana
stayed at No. 2 and Bellarmine atNo. 3. Lastweek’s
fourth-ranked team,Angelo State, lostat Tarleton
State to move a number of teams up as a result.
Barry jumped from sixth to fourth this week while
Lincoln Memorial stayed at No. 5. The next four
teams all moved up one spotapiece,starting with
sixth-ranked Indianapolis.
West Liberty is seventh this week, followed by
Minnesota State-Moorhead, Metropolitan State, while
Angelo State is 10th
and Tarleton State 11th
.
Wisconsin-Parkside remains atNo.12, while Mount
Olive moved up a spotto 13th
. The next three teams
all moved up three places in the rankings,with
Colorado School ofMines at No. 14, Western Oregon
at 15th
and Central Missouri atNo. 16.
California Baptistmoved up to 17th
and Pacific West
Conference rival Azusa Pacific also moved up five
spots as well to 18th
, with Lake Superior State and
Colorado-Colorado Springs rounding out this week’s
top 20.
The final five teams in this week’s poll are University
of the Sciences,BYU-Hawaii,UNC Pembroke,
Saginaw Valley State and Southern Connecticut
State.
The next poll will be released Feb.24. The NCAA will
release its firstregional rankings on Wednesday,Feb.
18.
