Florida Southern retained the top spot in the latest Division II men's basketball rankings, while five of the top 10 teams suffered losses that shuffled the rankings. Augustana fell to second after its 19-game winning streak ended, moving Bellarmine to second and Lincoln Memorial, West Liberty, and Minnesota State-Moorhead up to third through fifth respectively. Losses by Barry, Indianapolis, Metropolitan State, and Angelo State also impacted the top 10.

1. KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Florida Southern retains the top
spot in the latest NABC/Division II rankings –
following a week in which five of the top 10 teams
suffered losses to shuffle the look at the top of the
poll.
The Moccasins held onto the top spot after wins over
Eckerd and Lynn, but second-ranked Augustana saw
its school record 19-game winning end Saturday at
Winona State, moving Bellarmine to the second spot
in the poll.
Losses by Barry, Indianapolis, Metropolitan State and
Angelo State also shook up the top 10, as Lincoln
Memorial moved up to third, West Liberty to fourth
and Minnesota State-Moorhead, who leads the nation
with 29 wins, vaulted to fifth.
Augustana landed at No. 6 this, with Tarleton State,
Wisconsin-Parkside – in the top 10 for the first time in
school history -- moving up four spots apiece to the
next two positions. Barry came in at No. 9 this week,
while Mount Olive is 10th
. The Trojans are making
their first top 10 appearance since December 2005.
Colorado School of Mines, who took over first place in
the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference over the
weekend, moved up three spots to No. 11, followed
by Central Missouri, Azusa Pacific and a trio of teams
that dropped from the top 10 due to losses last week,
Metropolitan State, Angelo State and Indianapolis.
Lake Superior State checks in at No. 17, while
Colorado-Colorado Springs, UNC Pembroke and
Western Oregon complete the top 20.
The final five teams in this week’s poll are University
of the Sciences, California Baptist, Southern
Connecticut State, Indiana (Pa.) and Cal Poly
Pomona.
The next poll will be released March 3. The NCAA
will release its second regional rankings on
Wednesday, Feb. 25.
