1. KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The top four spots went
unchanged this week in the new NABC/Division II
men’s basketball rankings,butlosses bythree of the
top 10 from a week ago shuffled the teams below
those four atop the poll.
Indianapolis continues to hold the top spotfor the
second week in a row heading into a road contest
Thursdayat No. 20 Wisconsin-Parkside,while Lincoln
Memorial,the only other team in NCAA Division II
withouta loss,retains the second spotin the poll.
Florida Southern and Barry stayed at third and fourth,
respectively, while Augustana moved up to fifth as a
resultof a West Liberty loss lastweek.
Bellarmine and Minnesota State-Moorhead also
moved up one spotas well, while Angelo State makes
its first appearance in the top 10 in school historyby
going three spots ahead to eighth.
Colorado-Colorado Springs returns to the top 10 as it
moved up to ninth and West Liberty landed in the
tenth spotin this week’s rankings.
Metropolitan State and Tarleton State also made a
three-spotjump in the rankings to 11th
and 12th
, while
Colorado School ofMines – one of the teams in the
top 10 that losta week ago – dropped to 13th
. Azusa
Pacific moved up to 14th
and Mount Olive rose a spot
to No. 15.
California Baptistfell from 10th
to 16th
this week after
its loss to Dixie State and is followed by BYU-Hawaii,
Minnesota State, UNC Pembroke and Wisconsin-
Parkside.
The final five teams in this week’s poll are Indiana
(Pa.), Ferris State and three teams that were
unranked a week ago – St. Edward’s,Western
Oregon and Texas A&M-Commerce. St. Edward’s
returns to the rankings after falling out lastweek,
while Western Oregon is in the Division II top 25 for
the first time in school history.
The next poll will be released Feb.3.
