o To direct and ensure that asset management within the National Department of Health is
strategically planned and processes are supported by a well functioning and regulated asset
management unit as required by the Public Finance Management Act, 1999 (Act. No. 1 of 1999)
as amended by Act 29 of 1999.
o To maintain a world-class, effective and excellence driven asset management practice that
ensures efficient, economical and transparent management and use of the Department's assets.
o The safeguarding of the assets of the Department and to ensure the effective and optimal use
of the existing resources.

o A payroll master with 145 employees and processing of all Human Resources Management
matters.e.g data in the payroll is accurate with regard of names,persal numbers and that the
employees were on duty for the period in question,etc;
o Manage Supply Management System(SCM),LOGIS and general office administration;
o Handling of Management Reports. The different management reports and the Balanced Scorecard
enables managers to control and regulate stock levels and moveable assets, while at the same time
satisfying internal user demand, resulting in optimised Logistics Management;
o As a Logis System Controller (User Type 3),I assumed overall responsibility for LOGIS within the

Department,e.g.with regard of the maintenance of the system, retrieving of Logis Reports and
various Logis functionalities;
o Interpret and apply the principles in the PFMA and Treasury Regulations related to financial reports
such as Detail reports. The BAS Detail Report assists users with detail transaction information on
expenditure incurred or revenue received;
o General Principles of BAS enables users to comprehend the history of BAS, the interaction of PFMA
and Treasury Regulations on BAS and particular financial systems.Also,to understand the technical
architecture of BAS;
o Control procurement,accounting,record keeping, receipt and issuing of assets, inventories and
services, taking all delegated powers and regulations into consideration;
o Overall supervision and monitoring of personnel performance(plus or minus 130);
o Determine the training needs of personnel, facilitate training and provide in-service training;
o Continuous spot checks of records at the warehouse as well as spot checks of assets and inventories
at Cost Centre Manager’s sections;
o Compile and submit reports and returns to Head Office, e.g. Reconciliation and balancing of assets,
i.e. minor and major assets etc.;
o Requisition approvals;
o Authorization and signing of procurement advices;
o Authorization and signing of official orders;
o Pre-authorization of payments;
o Have a client base of 16 cost centre managers.
