Trends, Tools, and Tactics for Better Library DesignElliot Felix
Webinar from October 2013 to Blended Librarians Group on the "Trends, Tools, and Tactics for Better Library Design" featuring trends on learning and research, tools from the learning space toolkit (www.learningspacetoolkit.org), and tips for putting them to work to improve your library's spaces, services, and staffing.
The Hub is a new concept about the dynamic fusion of the general session and training experiences. This presentation outlines the benefits of adopting this innovative, energetic approach to experiential learning.
The Hub is designed to break down traditional content, and therefore arrange for "mini-sessions" to engage audience in a much personal nature with facilitators speaking to smaller groups as they rotate between the various interactions.
The Hub works very well in the Life Sciences industry as the audience is media-savvy, well versed with technology and are always busy. We have seen a noticeable uptick in audience enthusiasm and participation wherever we have deployed the Hub concept, and have in turn seen higher scores in the metrics of both engagement and retention.
This presentation will establish the need for, and outline the benefits of adopting an on-demand training solution that leverages ubiquitous technology and in sync with learners' behaviors and expectations.

You’ll walk away from this session with a tactical formula you can follow to create your end user adoption strategy and templates to support the process.
Tips on Hosting Public Service Design Workshops (Java Edition)George Hodge
For the past year, service design has been the darling of the public sector in urban centres across Java. Demand for design workshops among public servants is on the rise, but one question prevails: How might we better teach human centred design to people who live and breathe hierarchy, bureaucracy and routine?
These slides capture some of the lessons we learned while facilitating service design workshops in Malang and Probolinggo, East Java, in collaboration with GIZ.
We have been humbled and inspired by the passion of the participants. And we have learned a lot about untangling the restraints to design-led innovation in Indonesia’s public sector.
State of the Training Industry – A Grass Roots Look from the Employees’ Persp...BizLibrary
In this webinar, we will summarize important findings from this data, including some data confirming what we know about some types of training delivery, as well as some surprising data that runs counter to many “State of the Industry” reports more widely available.
Consumers of training products and services are telling us some very important things, and it’s important that we listen. They are telling us in clear terms what they believe works and doesn’t, and some of the things that they tell us don’t work are the “tried and true” methods of training we typically rely upon. The survey data also reveals a lot of great information about content, length of training and effectiveness by job role
