Description: The NEW PET Past Paper
Pack has been especially designed by
Cambridge ESOL to provide teachers
everything they need to give students
authentic practice for the PET
examination.
The pack contains:
• Ten copies of each of the PET papers
• Speaking Test materials, which
include candidate visuals and examiner
scripts
• Teacher Booklet containing answer
keys, mark schemes and sample
answers for Writing, tapescripts for the
Listening paper, and the assessment
criteria and a copy of the Cambridge
ESOL Common Scale for the Speaking
paper
• Resource Booklet with photocopiable
answer sheets, so the packs can be
reused with different groups of
students
• CD with audio recordings for the
Listening paper.
PET has three
papers – Reading
and Writing,
Listening, and
Speaking. The
Reading and
Writing paper
contributes 50% of
the total marks,
and the other two
papers each
contribute 25%.

an exam for people who need to prove
they can use everyday written and
spoken English at an upper-intermediate
level for work or study purposes.

teaching, assessment. It has also been
accredited by the Qualifications and
Curriculum Authority in the UK as a
Level 2 ESOL certificate in the
