This document summarizes an industrial design portfolio for Shijiawang. It includes projects for designing a Q-CIR chair, Nezi TV table, AU promotional gifts, and an OEM wet/dry vacuum cleaner for automobiles. For the vacuum cleaner, research was conducted including a customer survey, competitive analysis of existing products, and measurements of vehicle storage spaces. Two concepts were developed - one integrating the vacuum into the arm rest, the other into the back seat. The back seat concept was selected for further modeling.

The document discusses furniture for a dining room. It recommends getting a single large table instead of multiple smaller tables to make the room less cluttered. It also discusses different furniture styles and notes that rustic styles can be more expensive due to being handmade. The document provides tips for designing furniture in a 3D modeling program and notes the importance of notches and joinery in preventing wood movement over time.
This document provides an introduction and overview of the book "Google SketchUp Guide for Woodworkers" by Timothy S. Killen. The book teaches woodworkers how to use Google SketchUp to design woodworking projects in 3D. Some key points:
- SketchUp allows woodworkers to create virtual 3D models of furniture to check designs from any angle before building. This is more useful than traditional 2D CAD.
- The book covers how to model joints, furniture parts, moldings, and other woodworking elements. It also provides instructions for creating shop drawings, templates, and other documentation.
- While SketchUp has limitations for artistic shaping, it excels at detailing parts,

This document discusses designing small apartments for different types of occupants. It describes three apartment designs under 50 square meters that comfortably fit the needs of a young family, a young couple, and a bachelor.
The first apartment is 46 square meters in Russia for a young family. It celebrates art with a Mondrian-inspired wall and incorporates a bedroom, home office, and living/kitchen space.
The second apartment is 48 square meters in Ukraine for a young couple. It has an open floor plan with a kitchen, living room with sofa and aquarium, and bedroom with built-in storage.
The third apartment is a minimalist design for a bachelor that removes the need for a TV area, instead
Sketching is an important early stage of the design process where designers generate ideas through sketches on paper. Sketch models or rough models made from simple materials then help visualize designs in 3D. Finished models attempt to simulate the final product while prototypes are full-sized, accurate models of the final design. Building a 3D model in SketchUp has advantages like identifying design flaws early and creating presentation views. Following basic steps like making walls and adding doors/windows, furniture and details allows efficient room modeling.
This document summarizes Naomi Souza's final presentation for an Interior Design class. It includes summaries of different interior design boards showcasing concepts like color, texture, balance. It also includes a critique of the class from Naomi's perspective, stating that the class focused more on technical skills like lettering rather than design concepts as expected, and feedback was lacking for projects. Overall, Naomi felt there was too much "busy work" and not enough continuity or interaction in the class.

This document outlines several potential projects for graphic design students, including designing a new board game, console, jewelry line, or magazine.
The board game project involves designing a non-electronic game to be played with others to encourage social interaction. The console project tasks students with conceptualizing a new family-friendly gaming system. The jewelry project brief asks students to create a line of men's accessories using non-metallic materials. Finally, the magazine project requires students to sample content for a new publication, including cover, articles, and a 3D gift for new subscribers.
Alternatively, students can propose their own project idea, but must convince their teacher it is suitable and can be completed using workshop materials and equipment
This document provides information and inspiration for designing a clock. It discusses various materials that could be used like acrylic, wood, and plastics. It examines existing clock and home decor designs from brands like Alessi and designers like Arad and Rossi for inspiration. The document considers design principles like being quirky, environmentally friendly, and suitable for display in a home or museum. It analyzes different prototypes and aspects of existing clocks that could inform the design such as size, mechanism, and numbering system. The goal is to create a unique clock design that reflects the style of Alessi in an attractive, functional way.

The Canadian
Imaging the combination of sand, seashells, endless
water and sky, what will first come into your mind? The
seaside definitely. And together with a few corals, a
model sailing ship, an antique wooden coffee table,
crisp navy blue and white stripes, and one or two
pieces of Folk Art, they are enough to tell you this is the
style along Canadian East Coast.
You can feel the particular points of this style as soon
as you walk into this room. The white curtain is waving
with the gentle wind, it’s clearly elemental to the airy
look. Different levels of blue coordinate smoothly in
this room; bright green blue Asian side table adds lot
of interests and texture, the navy blue stripes carpet,
aqua and white pouf and the sliver woven chair,
together tone down the colour of the side table. And
the antique wooden coffee table adds more country
feel into this living room. Funky shaped clock hanging
beside the artwork and the world map, gives the room
more palpable East Coast flavor.

THE DESIGN CONCEPT
This home studio is designed into contemporary style, and mixed with the
industrial overall feelings. Three functional partitions were designed into
this space, working area, drafting area and conference area. The ceiling
to floor bookshelves is the focal point in this space. It took the whole west
wall, with a built in desk top, a rack ladder, and variety of open and closed
storage for paper or samples. To clearly identify the working area and
drafting area, a drafting table with storage legs was been chose.
Drawing supplies and work can storage on the shelf or in the big drawer.
The adjustable office chair can be use both for working or drafting,
and an optional stool can use for drafting or use as a coffee table in the
conference area. The corner armchair is more for meeting the clients; it’s
very comfortable and fit into this space, and also adds some soft feeling
into this industrial home studio.
