8
Why is
Ramadan
special?
9
Ramadan is the month
that the Quran was first
revealed….
The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the
Qur'ân, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs
for the guidance and the Criterion (between right
and wrong).(2:185)……
10
Ramadan is also special
because the gates of Hell
are locked and the devils
are chained.
Abu Hurayrah reported Allah’s Messenger (salla
Allahu alayhi wa sallam) as saying: “When there
comes the month of Ramadan, the gates of mercy
are opened, and the gates of Hell are locked and
the devils are chained
(Saheeh Muslim, #2361)
11
and Ramadan is special
because we fast during
this month and receive
many blessings,
insha Allah
So, whoever of you sights (the crescent on the first
night of) the month (of Ramadan, i.e. is present at
home), he must observe Saum (fasts) that month
(2:185)
12
What is
Fasting?
13
Many people think
That fasting is staying away
from food and drink from Fajr
to Maghrib…..
14
This is true,
but ………..
15
Fasting also means to stay
away from bad speech
and bad actions such as
lying, backbiting and
cursing.
Abu Hurayrah reported that the Prophet (salla
Allahu alayhi wa sallam) said: “If one does not
abandon falsehood and other actions like it, Allah
has no need that one abandon one’s food and drink
(Saheeh Bukhari)
