Joey Tavares was born in Holbrook, New York but later moved to North Carolina with his mother and new step-father. He made his first friend Brian at his new elementary school and later moved houses in the same town, losing contact with another friend Quinton. Joey's grandmother owned their new house, which housed Joey's growing family after his little brother was born. Each summer, Joey visits his father and extended family in New York, enjoying time with friends and family. Currently in high school, Joey joined the swim team as a freshman and more recently cross country, finding new friends through sports.

1. My LifeBy Joey Tavares Tech Class period 5My life first started on Long Island, New York; I was born in Holbrook, NY on October 14th, 1994. My mother moved down to North Carolina a few years later with me and my new step-dad. I started to go to school at Coltrane Webb Elementary, and I met my first friend Brian. A little bit later on we moved to Lakeview Street in Kannapolis, NC. I made a few friends there the most memorable is my friend Quinton. A few years later I moved to Poplarglen drive in Kannapolis, I have not seen him since. My Grandmother was the owner of the house we moved into and we made it a house for five after my little brother was born. I go up to New York every summer to see my Dad; his name is Roberto (Rob) Tavares. When I go up to see him I get to see my family that lives up there it is very fun to see my friends and family after a year. At the school I am currently attending which is Gray stone day school oh yea! It is a College preparatory school, I joined the swim team my freshman year and have been doing it since. I joined Cross Country this year and it is really fun I gained a lot of friends. This is my life, I enjoy it and that’s all that matters.
