2. Main Task Brief
• This is the task I will be completing for my AS Level Media
Studies coursework:
Students to produce the front page, contents page and double
page spread of a new music magazine (Photoshop will be used
for image manipulation and InDesign will be used for page
layout and design features on contents page and article) all
images and text used must be original, produced by the
candidate, minimum of four images per candidate.

3. What do I like about these
covers?
These magazine covers are very
colourful and feminine. They’re
very eye catching and I like the
artists featured on the front. I also
like how the women aren’t
portrayed to be ‘slutty’ and
appeal to men – their target
market is girls so the mise-en-
scene is soft and typically ‘girly’.

4. Contents Page Ideas
I like both of these contents pages because they’re both very sophisticated yet
simple and attractive. All the key information you need from a contents page is
easily accessible on them, but they contain images and bright colours to make it
appealing for girls.

5. I like these double page
spreads because they’re very
sophisticated and feminine. I
like the way the image spreads
across the double pages, and
the background is subtle yet
powerful. I like the title and
text font, and the overall look
of the spread.
