Renewable energy sources and technologies have the potential to provide solutions to the longstanding energy problems being faced by developing countries. The renewable energy sources like wind energy, solar energy, geothermal energy, ocean energy, biomass energy and fuel cell technology can be used to overcome energy shortage in India. This paper proposes a modified multi-level inverter (MLI) topology for Hybrid Renewable Energy Sources (HRES) and a design of hybrid solar-wind power generation model with 9-level, 13-level and 17-level inverter topologies. A HRES connected to a modified Cascaded H-Bridge Multi Level Inverter (CHB-MLI) is developed, whose switches are controlled using Artificial Neural Network (ANN) model. The proposed hybrid energy system model consists of 10 Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistors (MOSFETs) that intend to give 17 levels of output voltage. The proposed topology performs effectively with reduced number of components and reduced Total Harmonic Distortion (THD). The performance of the proposed system is analyzed by designing the model in MATLAB/SIMULINK environment. The simulation results of the proposed inverter for the HRES application are compared with the results of the existing topologies to show the effectiveness of the proposed model.

This innovation is begun in early 2009 and later the company was established by name Solar Roadways in U.S. and awarded a contract by federal government.
The Solar Roadway is a series of structurally-engineered solar panels that are driven upon.
The idea is to replace all current petroleum based asphalt roads, parking lots, and driveways with Solar Road Panels that collect energy to be used by our homes and businesses.
The ultimate goal is to store excess energy in or along-side the Solar Roadways.

MULTISCALE LOGARITHM DIFFERENCE EDGEMAPS FOR FACE
RECOGNITION AGAINST VARYING LIGHTING CONDITIONS
ABSTRACT
Lambert an model is a classical illumination model consisting of a surface albe do
component and a light intensity component. Some previous researches assume that the light
intensity component mainly lies in the large-scale features. They adopt holistic image
decompositions to separate it out, but it is difficult to decide the separating point between large-
scale and small-scale features. In this paper, we propose to take alogarithm transform, which can
change the multiplication of surface albe do and light intensity into an additive model. Then, a
difference (subs traction) between two pixels in a neighborhood can eliminate most of the light
intensity component. By dividing neighborhood into sub-regions, edge-maps of multiple scales
can be obtained. Then, each edge-map is multiplied by a weight that can be determined by an
independent training scheme. Finally, all the weighted edge-maps are combined to form a robust
holistic feature map. Extensive experiments on four benchmark data set sin controlled and
uncontrolled lighting conditions show that the proposed method has promising results, especially
in uncontrolled lighting conditions, even mixed with other complicated variations.
