Learning From Driving Digital Transformation at Scale: HP Enterprise and Sub-...MuleSoft
Rapid changes in business processes require an IT ecosystem that is able to quickly adapt to changing business needs. The complexity in the IT ecoystem increases once an organization becomes bigger and contains entangled business process across the IT Landscape. Putting systems together in a manner which provides business agility, supports rapid adaption to changes, creates ease of doing business and lowers the cost of IT is a challenge. Our approach for Digital transformation has brought success for clients who have been able to transform their business in a faster and more rapid manner while driving results for the business.

Shrinking the Custom Application Development Cycle with Low-Code PlatformsQuickBase, Inc.
Enterprises are constantly seeking to raise speed and agility through software. This requires IT to address complex business requirements with an eye for customer experience and mobility. Until now, these builds meant long and expensive development cycles, on-site maintenance and updates. In short, these builds lack the flexibility required for today’s business environment.
Not anymore.
With the advent of low-code platforms, the time, skills, and resources required for building custom applications that meet complex business requirements have been dramatically reduced.

What Every Learning Pro Should Know About #NoCodeMike Taylor
What if you could turn your ideas into real projects and build tools for automating work without needing to know how to code? Until recently, the only people who could build things on the internet were a few ambitious people who spent months learning to code before publishing even the most basic website. Today, anyone with a little creativity and access to the internet can use GUI-based (no code) tools quickly and easily to build not only websites but also to create fully-functional custom applications without writing any code. What seemed impossible a few years ago is now a reality: drag, drop and deploy. This session is perfect for those who want to learn how to take advantage of opportunities to adapt and leverage the right technologies at the right time to meet organizational goals.
#NoCode tools allow anyone to create automated workflows between your favorite apps and services to synchronize files, get notifications, collect data, and more. They can boost business productivity to get more done in less time and even create custom apps without needing to write any code. In this session, you’ll discover how, with the help of these #NoCode tools, you can develop, integrate, and automate your important L&D processes quickly and easier than ever before.
In this session, you will learn:
* What #NoCode is and why you should care
* How to use a variety of task automation platforms such as IFTTT, Zapier, and * Microsoft Power Automate, which enable anyone to spend less time doing operational tasks (aka busy work)
* How and where to find the right tool for your projects
* About some of the options available for designing and creating websites and applications without involving (much, if any) coding
* The best people and resources for learning how to extend what you learn beyond the end of this learning experience

Platforms and Microservices - Is There a Middle Ground for Engineers and Tech...Dialexa
Your technology strategy is the key to executing successful digital transformation. But if you talk to engineers and strategists, there are opposing views on the best way to leverage technology.
While engineers might push for a pure microservices architecture, strategists may take a step back and consider the long-term implications of that decision on the enterprise. Is there a middle ground?
Our own VP of Engineering, Samer Fallouh, and Head of Technology Strategy, Russell Villemez, discussed this topic to see if there was some middle ground to drive innovation more effectively.

Is SOA the answer to everything? Perhaps not. Web oriented architecture (WOA) or SOA + WWW + REST, takes you several steps further by filling the blanks of SOA and helping you build an end-to-end complete web application. In addition to APIs, WOA identifies user interfaces and application state as first-class components of an architecture. Most of what we build today is actually WOA, though the abbreviation might not be that popular.

Business Transformation: PwC Presents Its Viewpoint on the Integration FabricCA Technologies
While cloud and digital devices enable 24/7 anywhere, anytime access, these same technologies introduce complex integration challenges. Traditional integration technologies can't keep pace. They are typically costly and brittle and perpetuate dated processes and organizational and governance structures.
Savvy organizations are transforming their integration approaches through innovative technologies combined with organizational and governance change to create a seamless, secure and interconnected ecosystem that can rapidly respond to change.
We present PwC's viewpoint on how to help organizations combine tools, accelerators and business transformation coupled with a new view of integration "roles" that is at the heart of helping business units leverage the flexible tools of the integration fabric and continue to accelerate time to market.

MuleSoft London Community July 2022 - Test Driven DevelopmentPace Integration
As one of the longest running MuleSoft Meetups globally, Pace Integration have hosted hundreds of professionals with an interest in MuleSoft and APIs.
Featured topic: Unit Testing - How to test Transform components in a Mule Flow
There is more to writing MUnit Tests than mere code coverage. If we are going to test our code, as we should, the tests we write need to be meaningful. A proper Test-Driven approach may impact not only the tests we write, as developers, but also the very structure of the code within the Mule Flows we aim to test.
There are many ways to write a bad test. These can range from pointless to downright dangerous tests that offer developers and stakeholders a false sense of security. Here, we will delve into the art of testing Transforms, specifically. This is often where the lion’s share of a Mule project’s work is done, and yet it is an area often overlooked when writing MUnit tests.

As one of the longest running MuleSoft Meetups globally, Pace Integration have hosted hundreds of professionals with an interest in MuleSoft and APIs, and the March London Meetup was our first event in 2022!
Featured topic: CloudHub Automation - How to automate Anypoint CloudHub and beyond through Infrastructure as a Code, presented by Mike Jakeman!
The CloudHub Automation team came together on a common philosophy to automate Anypoint CloudHub and beyond through Infrastructure as a Code. We wanted to reduce the CloudHub setup time for Muleys and partners so that the focus can be on innovation rather than duplicating/rebuilding platform configurations. The backbone of the idea is to offer flexibility and next generation open source building blocks for anyone using the platform to automate rich and complex needs using auto-generated client libraries. Given the team's experience it also means that we can inject standard platform best practises into templates for plug-and-play customers who wish to deliver use cases and bootstrap the integration layer without having to go through detailed platform discovery.

Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message
Join us to learn more about this new, human-in-the-loop capability, brought to you by Integration Service connectors.

GDG Cloud Southlake #33: Boule & Rebala: Effective AppSec in SDLC using Deplo...James Anderson
Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.

Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.
"Impact of front-end architecture on development cost", Viktor TurskyiFwdays
I have heard many times that architecture is not important for the front-end. Also, many times I have seen how developers implement features on the front-end just following the standard rules for a framework and think that this is enough to successfully launch the project, and then the project fails. How to prevent this and what approach to choose? I have launched dozens of complex projects and during the talk we will analyze which approaches have worked for me and which have not.

6. PACE IS A SPECIALIST TECH CONSULTANCY
FOCUSED ON ENTERPRISE SYSTEMS INTEGRATION
STRATEGY.
TOP 5 INTEGRATION
CHALLENGES
8. PERCEPTION.
Integration is often seen as a technical service, that is a back office activity.
• Integration is mission critical but is often seen as something that happens automatically.
• In the background project teams code point to point at what is perceived as a low cost,
commodity service.
• We all know integration is as much about understanding the business processes as it is about
the technology it’s implemented through.
• The true value of decoupled API led integration is unknown to companies – we as integration
practitioners face the challenge of tangibly showing the value.
The API revolution presents established integration capabilities the opportunity to reposition
themselves closer to the business & product owners. But changing culture and perception are
the most challenging within an organisation.
10. PRE-PACKAGED.
When advising your organisation on the integration needs of a given solution be wary of “out the
box” and use the community for guidance on real-experience with new vendors.
“Out-of-the-box functionality is a product that works immediately after
installation without any configuration or modification.”
• As Integration architects we have been advocates for reusable assets for years.
• In some cases the software vendors, particularly SaaS, market pre-delivered or pre-packaged
integration solutions that work “out the box”.
• However there is often hidden or embedded code that is customised for each end point (&
customer), rather than true accelerated packaged integrations.
• One of the worst examples are for "cartridge" based patterns where code is inserted on target
applications, often unsupported or running in a manner which does not provide resilience or
upgrades.
11. LANDSCAPE COMPLEXITY.
“Any intelligent fool can make things bigger and
more complex…it takes a touch of genius – and a
lot of courage to move in the opposite
direction.”
Albert Einstein
12. LANDSCAPE COMPLEXITY.
Without the appropriate amount of governance your enterprise integration landscape complexity
can rapidly increase leading to costly consolidation projects – get the right integration strategy
for your organisation in place upfront.
Increased access to low-entry SaaS solutions & traditional enterprise applications
leading to growth in the number of systems within large scale enterprises.
• Multiple technologies fulfilling the same business purpose, often leading to replication of data
models and business process interfaces.
• With integration and middleware applications underpinning the majority of these processes,
enterprises face the challenge of exponential growth of interfaces and middleware tools.
• A lack of a clear integration strategy quickly leads to increased costs, complexity and
frustration at the pace of change (always reinventing).
14. API OWNERSHIP.
Whilst API familiarity is increasing, product ownership within the business can be
a challenge in cases where APIs are seen as technical.
Ownership of the APIs is key to ensuring API Lifecycle Management. A well defined API is more
than the technical realisation but rests with clear definition of process functionality – knowledge
that sits with the business.
• A good API requires clear product ownership, with an iterative and agile refresh process.
• This in itself creates challenges with how to blend the immediate API requirements, with
idyllic data modelling.
• The API owner needs to use the right tooling to ensure valuable APIs are documented and
adjusted according to the consumption requirements.
• Product owners typically in the business can be reluctant to accept APIs if seen as technical –
strong comms and education required to change perception.
15. DECENTRALISATION.
“The real trick in highly reliable systems is
somehow to achieve simultaneous centralization
and decentralization.”
Karl E. Weick, Organizational Theorist
16. DECENTRALISATION.
Highlight to your leadership that any decentralisation agenda will be dependent on LOBs being
able to commoditise services accessed via the integration layer. And whilst it’s positive it still
requires balanced governance to protect the core enterprise.
Whilst empowering business platforms, there is a key challenge in finding the right
level of self-service, balanced with need to protect core enterprise.
• Agile companies, promote the strategy of smaller DevOps teams, rather than centralised IT
functions, that often become a bottleneck with an "order taker" mentality.
• A massive challenge and cultural shift takes place in the IT functions to release the governance
models enable decentralised services.
• Line of business teams bypassing IT are likely to underestimate the challenges and risks of
integration.
• As integration is across business areas it plays a critical role by providing services that can be
easily consumed and drive speed.
