Dr. Sharfuddin Chowdhury is a trauma surgeon working at Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town, South Africa and a senior lecturer at the University of Cape Town. He was born in 1977 in Bangladesh and obtained his MBBS degree from Chittagong Medical College in Bangladesh. He moved to South Africa in 2006 for surgical training and obtained fellowship in general surgery from the Colleges of Medicine South Africa in 2012. He is currently a consultant trauma surgeon at Groote Schuur Hospital and is working on his doctoral research.
