Muhammad Ali was a prominent Black Muslim boxer who became a voice for equality. He refused to fight in the Vietnam War due to his religious beliefs, which led to his boxing license being suspended for two years. Ultimately, the U.S. Supreme Court overturned his conviction. Ali advocated strongly for understanding of Islam and used his platform to promote peace, even as Parkinson's disease weakened him physically. He is remembered as a champion in the ring and a hero beyond it for his courage in standing up for his principles against discrimination.
