There are two different types of STI’s.
One caused by bacteria and the
other one caused by viruses.
 Bacterial STI’s are treatable and have
a cure
 Viral STI’s are also treatable but they
do not have a cure, they will remain
with you for life.

3. COMMON STI’s
 Chlamydia- Caused by bacteria, treatable
 Gonorrhea- Caused by bacteria, treatable
 Syphilis-Caused by bacteria curable only in
stage 1 and 2
 HPV- Caused by virus, symptoms are
treatable but will not go away
 Herpes- Caused by virus, symptoms are
treatable but will not go away
 HIV/AIDS- HIV is the virus that causes AIDS
