India produces more than 8% of total world production of pineapple. The major pineapple producing states in India are Assam, West Bengal, Karnataka, Meghalaya, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Kerala and Bihar.
At present the most popular commercial pineapple variety at global level is MD-2, however, other important verities are Giant Kew, Kew, Queen, Mauritius, Charlotte, Jaldhup, etc are also grown at significant level.
In this presentation I have briefly discussed the Pineapple varieties, propagation and plantation of pineapple.
