This document discusses moving a Kentico CMS to Microsoft Azure. It provides an overview of the steps needed including creating an Azure project, preparing the cloud environment, moving the database, deploying the application, and using Azure drive with Kentico CMS. It also notes some limitations of Kentico CMS version 5.5 R2 when used with Azure.

Best practices for developing your Magento Commerce on CloudOleg Posyniak
Properly implementing Magento Commerce Cloud is critical to the success of your online store. In this session, we’ll take a look under the hood and share how to maximize the value of your Cloud project through Docker-based local development, configurations to optimize deployments, and tools for performance monitoring (New Relic), and optimization (Blackfire).
Are you having trouble with all the things happening in web technology lately? Frustrated with the rate of change? Hard to keep up? Then we have good news for you: a little while ago, we at Jayway did a tech radar on web technology and we would like to share it with you.
Some of the technologies we will cover are: ECMAScript 6, React, Angular, Ember, Isomorphic/Universal web applications, Unidirectional client data flow, Backend-as-a-Service, Meteor, and Static site generators.
We will also do a small comparison of the web tech radar we did 18 months ago, and draw conclusions from the differences and the current rate of change.
Finally, we'll give some advices for navigating in the ever changing landscape of new web technology.

Blazor and Azure Functions - a serverless approachAlex Pshul
Blazor allows us to write code in C# that will run on your browser. No need to panic, this is not Silverlight. :)
The generated WebAssembly can be stored on an Azure Storage, instead of a server which processes requests, which on the one hand can save money and on the other hand, server a large amount of users.
For the backend, to leverage the serverless concept, Azure Functions can provide some easy to write endpoints, which will allow us to have a fully serverless WebApp with a functioning backend.
Bodin - Hullin & Potencier - Magento Performance Profiling and Best PracticesMeet Magento Italy
Performance is critical to eCommerce businesses, having a direct impact on cart abandonment rate. There’s countless statistics about this. What is missing is the right tools and the best practices. Before even setting up Content Delivery Networks or aiming for low hanging fruits such as images compression, the first thing to look at is the PHP code.
Fabien Potencier and Jacques Bodin-Hullin presented some do’s and don’ts in PHP code performance on Magento 2, what profiling is, and how profiling in development, test, staging and production makes it possible to proactively improve performance. They also unveiled testing strategies which make it possible to automate validation of code iterations with continuous integration and continuous deployment strategies.
A useful means to automate tasks in the cloud is by leveraging Azure WebJobs hosted in Azure App Service. In this session Steef-Jan will go into the creation, deployment and operations of Azure WebJobs. You will learn about the ins- and outs of Azure WebJobs.
Magento PWA Studio not just for Magento: it’s for making all kinds of Progressive Web Apps. And it’s not just for PWAs: it’s for helping developers to get work done. Though we conceived PWA Studio as the way to create PWAs that belong in the extensible Magento ecosystem, we are building it to be useful for any frontend developer, inside or outside the world of Magento.
Our standard app architecture uses beloved modern frontend ingredients. You may already know them; if not, you can learn them from a large online community. As Magento joins the busy world of modern Web frontend, you can join us there too.
Come see the many ways you can use PWA Studio tools and the many ways you can contribute to them.

In this session we’ll present an OSGi based technology stack that can be used for building scalable and modular web applications in Java with standards such as JAX-RS, dependency injection and websockets. We’ll also show you how HTML5 and JavaScript based frontends can be developed and deployment alongside the backend supporting its modularity.
Next.js vs React | what to choose for frontend development_ForceBolt
Vercel built the Next.js framework. It's free and open-source, built on Node.js and Babel, and it works with React to create single-page apps. This simplifies server-side rendering.

Embedding WPE WebKit - from Bring-up to MaintenanceIgalia
Embedded devices have become powerful enough to run Web content a decade ago,
and any modern SoC that can run Linux and includes a GPU is a potential
candidate to hide a Web engine under the surface. How did it made it there?
Does it only show Web content? What else can it do? The talk will cover
bring-up tips to build and get WPE WebKit working on your custom embedded
device and make your own simple Web browser, as well as the best practices for
keeping the system up to date. No less important is integration with the rest
of the system: this session will detail the possibilities that WebKit brings to
the table, including how to add new JavaScript APIs which call into native code
to provide tight, performant access to platform functionality.

Kentico CMS: A Case Study in Building for Today’s WebThomas Robbins
Building software is a set of smart choices to meet the needs of your customers and the possibilities of technology. Today’s Web demands that customers have a choice in how they deploy their applications. With over 7,000 websites in 84 countries, Kentico CMS for ASP.Net is delivered as a single code base for use as a cloud, hosted, or on-premise solution. With over 34 out of the box modules and everything built on a SQL Server backend – How did we do it? What tradeoffs did we make? In this session we will answer that question and look at how to build a rich and compelling website using Windows Azure.
Leverage the highly scalable Windows Azure platform and deploy your existing ASP.NET application to a new home in the clouds. This demo filled session will guide you in how to make successful use of Windows Azure’s hosting and storage platform as well as SQL Azure, the relational database in the cloud, by moving an existing ASP.NET application to a higher level.

While working together with Microsoft on the Windows Azure SDK for PHP, we found that we needed an popular example application hosted on Microsoft’s Windows Azure. Wordpress was an obvious choice, but not an obvious task. Learn more about Windows Azure, the PHP SDK that we developed, SQL Azure and about the problems we faced porting an existing PHP application to Windows Azure.

Machine Learning (ML) is quite popular today in the academic/research world. However, it is quite difficult to put into a product, especially a product with a huge customer base. This session will give Kubeflow, the open source ML toolkit on top of Kubernetes, a deep look from the MLOps perspective. Furthermore, we will have a brief look at Distributed MLSys and how Kubeflow copes with scalability. Last, a demo of the Kubeflow stack setup and ML project pipeline deployment will be demonstrated in the cloud.
Building a website without a webserver on AzureTodd Whitehead
JamStack is a popular modern architecture for creating web apps apps using JavaScript, APIs, and prerendered markup all delivered without web servers. The end result is fast, dynamic and more secure web sites that can cost significantly less than traditional approaches. In this session I’ll share how I build retrodevops.com using the JamStack architecture, Hugo and Azure as well as lessons learned along the way.
