2. A CASE STUDY
We have to provide the automatic solution using a COBOT arm. The student
needs to design a gripper for the COBOT arm that will do the gripping part
and in general flow chart for the said operation
3. Possible Solution
All the previously mentioned problems can be solved by
using an COBOT arm with a gripper.
A gripper can be designed with the help of solid edge.
This COBOT arm will automatically assemble the terminal
box thus reducing the chances of human error , and
leading us to avoid any hiccups during the assembly
4. Problems Caused By Manual Terminal Box Assembly
Risk Of Error In wiring due to which a short-circuit might
occur.
Takes a lot of precision and time to do it.
Always a risk of loose fittings.
5. Purpose of Presentation
The presentation may be intended to showcase the design and functionality
of the gripper and how it can be used in an assembly task.
It is also intended to persuade the audience of the benefits and efficiency of
using a cobot arm gripper for assembly tasks, or to motivate the audience to
consider using a cobot arm gripper in their own assembly processes.
Additionally, the presentation may aim to educate the audience about the
design and operationof the gripper and its potential applications
in assembly tasks.
6. COBOT Arm
• What are cobots? Cobots, or collaborative robots, are lightweight automated
robot arms that can handle a range of manufacturing, assembly and packing
tasks.
• What can a cobot do? A cobot can handle everything from bin picking to
palletizing to quality control to welding – and more.
• What are the most common cobot applications? Material handling, assembly
and ‘pick and place’ account for 70% of cobot applications.

8. GRIPPER
Grippers are devices that enable robots to pick up and hold objects. When
combined with a collaborative robot (or 'cobot') arm, grippers enable
manufacturers to automate key processes.
18. FLOWCHARTOF 2-JAWGRIPPER
1. A 2-jaw gripper is the most basic type of robotic arm gripper. It has two
opposing “fingers” attached to the jaws of the gripper module.
2. These fingers move in toward the center to grasp an object aligned with the
middle of the gripper.
3. 2-jaw grippers provide an equal amount of force from each finger.
4. The jaws of this type of gripper can accommodate a wide range of objects of
different shapes and sizes. This impressive level of versatility is one of the
pros of using them.
20. PROS
Affordability: 2-jaw grippers are usually more affordable than 3-jaw grippers.
User-Friendly: These grippers are easier to automate because of their simple
design.
21. CONS
Less surface area to distribute gripping force to workpiece.
Does not provide ability to center workpiece like 3-jaw gripper.
Can lack versatility in some applications
