Aircosaver is an electronic control unit that intelligently manages air conditioning systems to improve their energy efficiency. It achieves energy savings of 20-30% resulting in a payback period of about 8 months for units used 6-8 hours per day. As a retrofit product, it upgrades existing air conditioning units. When activated, Aircosaver uses sensor-driven algorithms to detect when the evaporator coil is fully charged and turns the compressor off to avoid inefficient operation, switching it back on once stored energy is used. This optimization can reduce energy consumption by up to 30% according to tests. Aircosaver is developed and manufactured in Germany to high quality standards.

3. How does it work?
When switched on, typical Air Conditioning Systems operate
continuously until, the thermostat senses the preset desired
temperature and thenturns the Compressor “OFF”.
As the room warms up, the thermostat switches the Compressor
back “ON” again and the cycle repeats.
Air Conditioning systems, are designed to cope with the extreme
cooling demands during the few hottest days of the year – plus a
safety margin. However, in most operational conditions, this
maximum capacity is not required and the system becomes
oversized.
Running such an A.C. continuously, until the thermostat switches
itself off, implies that the system operates at excess capacity most of
the time—unnecessarily consuming energy in excess.

4. A typical cooling cycle
When the A. C. starts, the compressor pumps chilled gas into the
evaporator coil which also stores the cold energy.
At this stage, the system works at high efficiency because,
compressors operate most efficiently only when fully loaded.
In normal weather conditions, the evaporator coil is soon fully
“charged up or saturated”. From this point onwards, the compressor
attempts to provide more cooling energy than the coil
Thermodynamic saturation occurs and energy waste begins
Running the compressor beyond this stage does not improve or
increases the cooling. A 1.0 Ton A.C. does not become a 1.5 Ton
A.C. by continuing to run the compressor.

5. The Aircosaver advantage
Providing an intelligent retrofit to the existing A.C. Aircosaver’s
sensor driven software algorithms are designed to detect
thermodynamic saturation and optimize the compressor operation
accordingly.
When saturation is detected, Aircosaver switches into “Save” Mode,
and turns the compressor OFF to avoid inefficient compressor
running.
The fan keeps working and the system draws the cooling energy
stored in the coil.
Once the stored energy is utilized, the compressor is switched ON
automatically and works efficiently once again.
