Bangalore-based pharma major Strides Shasun Ltd on Monday reported its consolidated net profit after taxes (PAT) at Rs 96.22
crore in the January-March quarter of FY 16, mainly on account of robust sales. “The consolidated net profit of the company
stood at Rs 11.4 crore during the same period a year ago,” Strides Shasun Ltd said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange on
May 16, 2016. Shasun Pharmaceuticals’ merger with the company became effective on November 19, 2015 with appointed date
as April 01, 2015.
Technical Outlook : On daily chart, stock has given good breakout with above average volume, which indicates that robust
upside movement can be seen from the present level. Moreover, stock has been trading above its 21 day moving average which
is placed at 1123 level, which shows that trend is up and stock could accelerates its upside movement from the present level. A
momentum indicator RSI reading is at 70.45 level with positive crossover, which point out for positive breath in the stock. So for
trading perspective, one could Buy in the range of 1185-1193 for the Target of 1217 with the SL of 1173.

State-run Dena Bank on May 16 reported a net loss of Rs 326.39 crore in the quarter to March. The bank had reported a net
profit of Rs 55.82 crore in the same period last year. In the December quarter, the mid-sized lender had reported a net loss of Rs
662.85 crore. Provisions for NPAs rose 200 percent to Rs 1,094.24 crore from Rs 365.93 crore in the year-ago quarter, while total
provisions stood at Rs 560.08 crore as against Rs 321.98 crore. For the full year, the bank reported a net loss of Rs 935.32 crore as
against a net profit of Rs 265.48. The bank's net interest margins slipped to 2.12 percent from 2.22 percent.
Technical Outlook : On daily chart, stock has formed Bearish harami candlestick with above average volume, which is a bearish
reversal indication. Moreover, stock has been facing strong resistance of its 100 day moving average which is placed at 32.20
level, which shows that short to medium term trend is down. A momentum indicator RSI reading is at 52.42 level and about to
make negative crossover, which point out for negative breath in the stock. So for trading perspective, one could Sell in the range
of 29.50-30 for the Target of 28 with the SL of 30.75.
US stocks fell on Friday as a decline in oil prices added to pressure from consumer companies after gloomy quarterly reports from
Nordstrom and J.C. Penney overshadowed upbeat April retail sales data. The decline in the department stores' shares marked the
end of a week that highlighted the expanding clout of Amazon.com and the plight of brick-and mortar retailers struggling to keep
up with the online seller. Crude prices slipped as a stronger dollar weighed and investors cashed in on gains from a three-day
rally. That pushed the S&P energy index down 1.25 percent. US retail sales jumped 1.3 percent last month, the largest gain since
March 2015 and a bigger rise than economists expected, the U.S.
Positive global markets and the market indicator SGX Nifty trading about 34 points up indicate a steady start for the Indian equity
market. Market on Monday staged a late recovery, led by buying in FMCG and IT stocks. Nifty recovered 90 points while Bank
Nifty recovered 300 points from the day's low. US markets too closed with gains in energy stocks which led the rally. Warren
Buffett’s bet on Apple Inc sent the iphone maker's shares rallying. Asia, too, is trading in the positive with Nikkei showing gains on
back of a weaker yen. In other asset classes, crude oil surged to a six-month high as banks including Morgan Stanley and Barclays
joined Goldman Sachs in saying that supply disruptions are leading markets to a rebalance.
