Two thousand magnificent kilometres of asphalt roads.
Exciting journeys through canyons, river and lake valleys and the shadows
of coniferous forest. Through medieval towns and scattered villages
and summer pastures. From a primeval forest to a sea of stone
and the real sea. From seagulls to eagles, or vice versa...
Montenegro is a true pocket dictionary of various concepts,
experiences, emotions, scenes, opposites and
extremes. Small and densely packed, such is the situation
here – for the reason that the space itself is compressed,
with everything else that goes with it. Sudden
take-offs into the chilly heights and fast landings
onto the Mediterranean. Landscapes that change like
in a motion picture. Vistas that open up and run away
somewhere behind the wheels. Sublime adventures
through canyons, river and lake valleys, through the
shadows of coniferous forests, scattered villages and
summer pastures. Friction against the hidden, narrow
roads. Rolling through the augury of different sorts of
scents, through the rugged rocks in which the flowers
bloom and through the meadows from which bluffs of
flowers and grass stick out, and then, without rest or
warning, decorations of infinite widths and open seas,
which tease and move the senses...
There are so many things here, and, with a little patience,
it could all be ironed out to match the size of
a decent continent. Is this enough reason for you to
decide to go for a nice adventure of discovering Montenegro?
We hope so.
We wish you a pleasant journey along these roads and
plenty of unforgettable memories.

Bordered by the clear sea, covered with white rocks, sunlit by the Mediterranean sun, Montenegro is one of the last European oases to which one can flow from the
dynamic tempo of civilization and rest by the soft sound of the waves, the song of crickets and the intoxicating scents of miscellaneous vegetation.
However you Reach Montenegro, through whichever ”door” you enter, you will encounter intact nature and be welcomed by hospitable, proud and friendly people.
Experience the whole Montenegro in just one day! This tour offers you the possibility to get to know Montenegro and its four different geographical areas, from the blue sea to the high black mountains.
There are many deep and long canyons in Montenegro, but there are not many like Platije – canyon of the river Moraca, which is truly amazing.
There are some parts of the canyon whose rocks are sharpened like diamonds and are so polished that only lichens and mosses can live on them. The sun illuminates rocks of the canyon in so many ways that every time you pass it you can see different colors and shadows, immortalized in paintings of many painters - not only from Montenegro.
Tara River is the longest river of Montenegro (156 km). Tara River is derived of rivers of Opasnica and Verusa and of winter snow and seasonal rains, with its source in the foot of Komovi Mountains, and together with Piva River, close to the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina, forms Drina River from Scepan polje. Tara River carved one of the deepest canyon gorges in the world which is 93 km long and more than 1300 meters high what make Tara River Canyon the deepest river canyon in Europe and the second deepest canyon in the world right after the Colorado River canyon. Protected by UNESCO since 1977, Tara River Canyon is one of the top 25 recognized world nature heritage sites, accessible for hikers and bikers. Tara River water quality and purity is so clean that you can drink water from it. All along its flow, the Tara River gets large quantities of water from numerous sources, and form breathtaking waterfalls and scenic cascades, whose roar is heard on the very peaks of the canyon. There are rocky and pebbly terraces surrounded with thick pine forests, sandy beaches, high cliffs, steep sides and more than 80 large caves along the Tara River Canyon.
Part of the river Tara, known as “Tear of Europe” runs through in the National Park “Durmitor”.
The Gulf of Kotor (Boka Kotorska) cuts deeply into the coastline of the southern part of the Yugoslav Adriatic, creating four spectacular bays ringed in mountains, the “fjords” of the Mediterranean. The little town of Perast is situated at the foot of St. Elijah Hill (873 m), opposite the narrow Verige strait, where the innermost bays of Risan and Kotor converge. This easternmost shore was the earliest inhabited area in the Boka. The remains of a Neolithic culture (3500 BC) have been discovered in the caves of Spila above Perast and various archaeological finds provide evidence of civilization dating from Illyrian, Roman and early Christian periods.
Preceded by two jewel-like islands, Perast is focused on the sea. From the interaction between mainland and bay, the inherent contrast of stone and water, the dialogue of island and wave, sometimes in harmony but often in conflict, this sea-faring town has derived its unity, strength and sense of purpose. Despite its size, a sophisticated urban structure has arisen, demonstrated by the proportion, scale, massing and rhythm of the great number of public buildings, especially along the waterfront.

Boka Bay, one of the world’s 25 most beautiful bays and protected UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979. Due to its unusual look, exceptional cultural and natural features the bay is often called Europe`s southernmost fjord, but in fact it`s a submerged river canyon. The bay is composed of 4 smaller bays - Tivat, Herceg Novi, Risan and Kotor bay. The narrowest part of the bay, Verige strait, divides it into the inner and outer part. Boka Bay glows with amazing calmness and peace.
The bay has been inhabited since antiquity and has some well preserved medieval towns. The picturesque towns of Kotor, Risan, Tivat, Perast and Herceg Novi along with their natural surroundings are major tourist attractions. The waves of the sea whisper the stories about great rulers, noble families, famous captains and sailors of the Boka bay. This bay was a great shelter of many rulers since ancient times, who contributed the establishing of settlements by building their palaces, summer residences, churches, harbours and shipyards.
The comfort of a luxury boat, the delights of a traditional cuisine, the care and the services of a ten-year experience, the quiet of a lovely lagoon, the millenary history of Venice, for an unforgettable cruise!

Budva - Tourist metropolis of Montenegro is known for its large number of hotels. The city that never sleeps is also known for its large number of events throughout the year.
Kotor is situated on the southeastern part of Boka bay, on a foothill of the mountain Lovcen. The area of community of Kotor is 355 km2. Kotor is cultural, educational, economical and sport center of this area.
As the only fiord on the Mediterranean, Boka Kotorska was added to the list of twenty five the most beautiful bays in the world in July 2000, the others being mainly in Scandinavia. The history of Kotor can be traced to the most ancient times. In the surrounding caves there have been found various tools and ceramics witnessing humane existence from the Neolithic period, as well as drawings on the walls of the cave at Lipci near Risan.
In the antique period the Illyrian tribal state was the first organized humane community on these territories. Roman conquest began by the end of the third century BC and since the year 169 BC these territories had been under the rule of Rome, and then were taken over by the Byzantines. The first Slav tribes settled there in the 12th century. Its first state was Doclea, later called Zeta. Since the end of the 12th century Kotor was in power of the members of the Nemanjic Dynasty until 1420 when the Republic of Venice occupied it and stayed there until 1797, the time of the Napoleon wars in Europe. After the stormy period from 1797 to 1814 when this area was alternately under the Russians, French, Austrians and Montenegrins, at the Vienna Congress in 1814, Kotor became the constituent of the Austro-Hungary Monarchy and remained under the rule of Austro-Hungary until 1918 when this region became a part of Yugoslavia until its disintegration.
For its unique mixture of different cultures, Kotor entered the list of the world cultural heritage under the protection of the UNESCO. In the past, the most developed industry in this area was trade and maritime affairs. Seafarers used to bring different products from overseas which they would exchange for the goods they were in need of. In that way Kotor became one of the most important trading centers in this part of the Adriatic coast.
The Monastery of Ostrog is a monastery of the Serb Orthodox Church located along the almost vertical cliff, high on the mountain call Ostroska greda (beams of Ostrog) with a view of the plains Bjelopavlici. It is in north part of Montenegro near Niksic, near village Bogetici.
Ostrog Monastery is dedicated to Sveti Vasilije Ostroski – Saint Basil of Ostrog who is his founder (17th century). He was buried there, and proclaimed a saint miracle worker. His body rests in a cave in the church. The monastery was rebuilt 1923-1926 after the fire, which had been spared cave churches. They represent a major heritage value... Ostrog Monastery is the most popular pilgrimage place in Montenegro. Ostrog Monastery complex comprises two parts, the first of which, the larger lower monastery is situated around the Church of the Holy Trinity, built in 1824, containing the majority of the monastic residences, including the Dormitory.
The white, rock-hewn upper Ostrog Monastery, a tough tiny 3 km walk uphill (accessible by car also), holds two diminutive cave-churches, one of which, the Holy Cross, features some splendid rock-painted frescoes by the great seventeenth-century Serbian artists-fresco painters Jovan and Radul, depicting revered saints (including St Sava and one of St Basil), scenes from the life of Christ, and religious holidays.

Tivat is located in the central part of the Boka, south of mount Vrmac. During the middle Ages the fertile lands of the Tivat area belonged mostly to the aristocrats of Kotor, Prcanj and Dobrota. There were their big properties, castles, and chalets as well as the collective church of St. Anton dating from 1373. Part of this inheritance, which was the property of the wealth Buca family, is a marvelous chalet which today houses Tivat's museums and galleries. As a town Tivat started developing in the late 19th century with the establishment of navy port Arsenal. In 2006 the port was purchased by PM Securities, a Canadian investment firm led by Peter Mank, who is investing $ 500 million in the building of a luxury marina and a resort complex “Porto Montenegro”. Its central part, where Tivat Airport is located, lies in fertile Grbalj valley. Beginning from 1971 the Tivat Airport acquired the modern runway and it is now a significant airport for foreign air companies.
From Lepetane, which is part of Tivat, a car ferry connects with the Herceg-Novi who is on the west side of the Boka.

The oldest olive tree in Europe, which has been bearing fruit for two thousand years, is located in an olive grove, which you pass by when entering Bar, the biggest Montenegrin port. The roots of the city of Bar are far from the sea, on the slopes of Rumija mountain. Old Bar is mentioned as a fortification from the 11th century. Today, the walls of Old Bar are a cultural centre. They hide the relatively well preserved remnants of towers, streets, and ramparts, including the St. George Cathedral and the Church of St. Nicholas from the 13th and 14th century respectively. There is also a palace with the remains of fresco paintings and a Turkish bath…while the remains of a Turkish aqueduct still descend from the top of Mount Rumija towards the town.
Today Bar is a port city, passenger and merchant ships from many countries arrive to, and it is the terminus for trains going to Belgrade and further on to Europe. Near Bar, there is a popular tourist resort Sutomore, with long sandy beaches and numerous hotels and restaurants.
Ulcinj, one of the oldest towns on the Adriatic coast, reveals at first sight its dramatic three thousand year history… It holds the ruins of the ancient Svaæ, the Episcopal town of Zeta from the Middle Ages, which, it is said, had as many churches as days in the year! Ulcinj used to be under the rule of Greeks, Romans, Illyrians, Byzantines, Slavs, Venetians and Turks. This treasury of culture can be entered through two gates, one from the sea and the other from the land. In a dark dungeon of Ulcinj, behind the famous Balsic Tower, the famous Spanish writer Cervantes was jailed, as well as Sabbatai Zevi, an advocate of Talmudic reform.
Ulcinj is a picturesque town, a famous beach resort and rehabilitation centre. Its visitors are mostly attracted by the long sandy beaches. One of the beaches is in the very middle of the town. The next sandy beach, a little further away, is 13 kilometres long, which is why it is called ”Long Beach”. The Long Beach ends at the estuary of the river Bojana, where a sandy, triangular island, one of the most attractive tourist destinations of Montenegro, lies. If you prefer spending your summer holiday dressed as Adam and Eve, Ada Bojana is the right place for you to really connect your body with Mother Nature. Long sandy beaches offer infinite possibilities to escape from everyday urban life, either through sunbathing and swimming, horseback riding on a sandy beach, windsurfing or some other sport.
NATIONAL PARK “SKADAR LAKE”
Skadar Lake, bordered on the east by Albania, is encircled on three sides by Montenegrin mountains. It is a national park and the largest bird preserve in Europe. In the rainy season the lake is large and inundated, and in the summer, the shores are bare and peaceful. Always enchantingly beautiful, the lake is 43 kilometres long, 14 km wide with an average depth of 7 meters and is rich with fresh water all year round. When the snow melts on the mountains, it is filled by the waters of the Moraca, Crnica, Plavnica and Rijeka Crnojevica rivers. The water of the lake is crystal clear not only because it is a preserved national park but also because it has about fifty active springs which supply the lake with clean water. The most famous one is the Raduç spring, located on the deepest spot of the Skadar Lake.
The lake hosts over 270 bird species, including some which are now rare, such as blue heron or Dalmatian pelican, black ibis, ducks, snipes, gulls...All these birds live here because of the abundance of fish. The silver carp and bleak are unique here. By swimming up the Bojana River eels reach the lake from the sea.
In addition to the beauty of the landscape, the shores of Skadar Lake have a number of islets with original small monasteries, renowned for their long tradition of monasticism, including Beska, Moracnik and Starcevo.
There are also fishing towns on the shore, such as Virpazar and Rijeka Crnojevica, famous for its triple-arched.

Follow the Adriatic coastline south to the charming medieval village Budva and to the largest beach near Ulcinj: there is a lot waiting to be discovered. But we would like to induce you also to explore the interior of the country: the historical royal town Cetinje is just north of Budva.
A very interesting excursion would be a trip to the Ostrog Monastery, where miracles are said to happen even today.
And you ought to meet the Montenegrin mountain people, too. Throughout our diverse history they learned to valiantly repulse invaders of all kinds – and to receive welcome guests with genuine hospitality. Do look them up in the scattered alpine cottages and experience a visit to friends.
Who will enjoy a holiday in Montenegro? Sunbathers and beach runners, adventurers and discoverers, fans of day- and nightlife, nature lovers and people looking for places of spiritual power: as a matter of fact, everybody.
See more – see you in Montenegro.

Antarctica- Icy wilderness of extremes and wondertahreemzahra82
In this presentation, we delve into the captivating realm of Antarctica, Earth's southernmost continent. This icy wilderness stands as a testament to extremes, with record-breaking cold temperatures and vast expanses of pristine ice. Antarctica's landscape is dominated by towering glaciers, colossal icebergs, and expansive ice shelves. Yet, amidst this frozen expanse, a rich tapestry of unique wildlife thrives, including penguins, seals, and seabirds, all finely attuned to survive in this harsh environment. Beyond its natural wonders, Antarctica also serves as a vital hub for scientific exploration, providing invaluable insights into climate change and the Earth's history
1. Two thousand magnificent
kilometres of asphalt roads
Exciting journeys through canyons, river and lake valleys and the sha-
dows of coniferous forest. Through medieval towns and scattered vi-
llages and summer pastures. From a primeval forest to a sea of stone
and the real sea. From seagulls to eagles, or vice versa...
IN JUST A FEW HOURS:
Ascend into the past
A few hours will be enough to sink deep into the ex-
traordinary atmosphere of the region which looks
as if it is infinitely far away from the capital city.
Medun
Although it was constructed as an Illyrian for-
tress, Medun became a town. It survived the ar-
rivals of the Romans, Slavs and Turks.
In Medun, there is the house, now a memorial
museum, where Marko Miljanov (1833-1901) – a
legendary warrior and a writer – was born. Pod-
gorica and its entire surroundings can be clearly
seen from Medun.
The Cijevna Canyon and the Prokletije Moun-
tains
Korita kučka (or Korita hotska) is a plateau where
former summer pastures stretch before you. To-
day, it is more of a weekend settlement. From
the fantastic place called Grlo sokolovo (Falcon’s
Throat), take a look right into the explosion of the
powerful canyon of the River Cijevna, daughter of
Prokletije’s snows.
Winding descent
A beautiful, roughly thirty-kilometre-long descent
towards Podgorica begins from Korita. The wind-
ing asphalt will lead you through the villages of
Deljaj and Stjepovo, and then it will take you to
new viewpoints above the Cijevna Canyon. Then
you will descend into the capital of Montenegro
through Doljane.

Lake Plav, the bewitching Grbaje Valley, Ali-Pa-
sha’s Springs, the Grlja Falls, the charming Ropo-
jane Valley... And then gently down the valley of
the River Lim.
The Tara Canyon, the deepest canyon in Europe
On this road, you will cover half of the 80-km-long
canyon, going up the River Tara, which is part of
Durmitor National Park (a UNESCO World Heritage
Site). You will start the descent into the deepest
canyon in Europe (900-1,300 m) from Pljevlja and
straight to the amazing bridge in Đurđevića Tara.
Detour: Lake Biograd
A mountain lake of glacial origin, veiled in the ro-
mance of Mt. Bjelasica, beautiful at any time of day
and all year round.
The Morača Canyon

an ending which is both cruel and attractive –

MAN-MADE AND NATURAL WONDERS:
Ostrog Monastery
Built into the rock, visited by pilgrims of all faiths,
from all over the world. There lie the miracle-
working remains of its founder, St. Basil of Ostrog.
The Nevidio Canyon
You will need a guide to pass through the last con-
quered canyon in Europe. But you will also feel
the strength and power of the River Komarnica at
the beginning of the canyon, from the bridge that
rises above it.
Lakes and Žabljak
On the Sinjajevina plateau: the lakes, Vražje and
Riblje jezero. An ancient cemetery (“the Greek cem-
etery”) with interesting tombstones. The beguil-
ing landscape called Bare Žugića. You should visit
Zminičko jezero. You could stay in Žabljak for days.
Visit Black Lake and at least Zminje jezero, take the
ski lift to the peak Savin kuk...
Štuoc, Tara and Sušica canyons
The asphalt road towards the peak of Štuoc is nar-
row but the views are magnificent. From the look-
out of Ćurevac you can see the Tara Canyon. The
ridge beneath Štuoc (1,959 m above sea level) is
the highest paved road in Montenegro. Across the
wavy plateau, to a place surrounded by pines, with
a view over the magnificent, wild Sušica Canyon.
Surreal Landscapes
The southern part of the circle around the crown
of Durmitor leads you through landscapes that
look strange, sometimes even surreal.
Lake Piva and Piva Monastery
It is hard not to stop and take a look from the fence
of Mratinje Hydroelectric Power Plant over a gap-
ing chasm, 220 metres deep, with the silk ribbon
that is the River Piva.
Romance
The rim of Bukovica Canyon, the small place Boan,
the canyon of the River Tušinje, the mountain of
Semolj, as well as a valley where the young River
Morača slowly grows. You will remember all these
places because of their romantic forests and lush
green vegetation.
ICONIC EVENTS:
Boka
Do not miss out on:

from Lovćen.
Rijeka Crnojevića
The former capital, with a royal summer resi-
dence, a leading trade centre, the place of the first

The Circuit around Lake Skadar
A story told in sequels: about fishing villages,
about the biggest bird reserve in Europe, the last
stop of migrating pelicans, ancient island monas-
teries, authentic lake cuisine, fine wines and the
picturesque town of Virpazar.
Ada Bojana
A heaven for artists of life, on a wide sandy estuary
of the River Bojana.
Old towns
Dedicate at least a part of your day to the walls of
Ulcinj and old Bar, the melting pot of the Orient
and Mediterranean, fortresses rich with history.
In Bar, pay your respects to the local star – an olive
tree 2000 years old.
Famous beaches

village of Bigovo, Trsteno Cove, the beaches of

Panoramic
roads around
MontEnEgro
Montenegro is a true pocket dictionary of various con-
cepts, experiences, emotions, scenes, opposites and
extremes. Small and densely packed, such is the situ-
ation here – for the reason that the space itself is com-
pressed, with everything else that goes with it. Sud-
den take-offs into the chilly heights and fast landings
onto the Mediterranean. Landscapes that change like
in a motion picture. Vistas that open up and run away
somewhere behind the wheels. Sublime adventures
through canyons, river and lake valleys, through the
shadows of coniferous forests, scattered villages and
summer pastures. Friction against the hidden, narrow
roads. Rolling through the augury of different sorts of
scents, through the rugged rocks in which the flowers
bloom and through the meadows from which bluffs of
flowers and grass stick out, and then, without rest or
warning, decorations of infinite widths and open seas,
which tease and move the senses...
There are so many things here, and, with a little pa-
tience, it could all be ironed out to match the size of
a decent continent. Is this enough reason for you to
decide to go for a nice adventure of discovering Mon-
tenegro? We hope so.
We wish you a pleasant journey along these roads and
plenty of unforgettable memories.
A fascinating experience
When you “unravel” all of the fascinating roads in
small Montenegro, you will end up with a surpri-
singly long yarn: a couple of thousands kilometres
that crave to be woven into a fascinating experien-
ce – and yet, there will be a lot left over afterwards.
The main points are easy to reach, but the small
territory proves to be a complicated maze when
you decide to venture into its less-known corners.
Down a narrow road in
order to reach a wider,
unforgettable picture
The most beautiful places in Montenegro can only
be reached by very narrow roads. If you have a lar-
ge vehicle, you can opt for one of the following two
options: to not risk stalling on the narrow roads
and keep to the main, well-known and "trodden"
tourist attractions... or to use your good will and
arm yourself with patience and manoeuvring in or-
der to pass those (rare) vehicles coming from the
opposite direction.
Food, Drinks and Souvenirs
Montenegro is rich with sources of fresh, healthy
water. To the taste of spring water add the supe-
rior taste of the local cuisine. On the roads you will
notice signs for paths of wine, cheese and honey,
but besides these also do not miss the opportunity
to buy food from the hosts. Also try their brandy,
mead and of course – great wines. Authentic sou-
venirs made from wool and wood will be not only
memories, but also very useful items.
