- The Project Manager for the Compact Secondary Substations
(CSS) New Assembly Line:
a. Changed the production concept from producing in batches
to be one piece flow line, which is revolutionary change for
this type of products.
b. Changed the assembly line layout, from project layout to be
process layout, with dedicated work stations, and sub
assemblies’ areas.
c. The handling process of the heavy objects has been
enhanced dramatically by using master balancers and
manipulators for the first time in the factory.
d. This line will be the biggest and the most advanced
assembly line for CSS products in ABB worldwide, with the
total area of 2400m2. And this encouraged the BU
management to select CSS factory in Egypt to be the leading
factory for the CSS products at ABB globally.
