2. Storyline – Starts off with an old book of Cindy, zooms in on the title, opens the book, the camera fades into the pages, camera tilts up and reveals Cindy on the computer, logs into Facebook, sees an event and clicks on it. Split screen to show Cindy and the Stepsisters all reading the event at the same time. All click accept. Flashes forward to show them all getting ready for the party, Stepsisters getting drunk, flashes to Cindy looking in the mirror, looking really pretty but all covered up. Then the Stepsisters come in drunk, messy, and vomit everywhere on Cindy, she’s fuming. Then they argue, Cindy goes in the bathroom and starts crying. Fairy Godmother sat on the toilet, *ahem*. Cindy goes to leave, looking a mess, Fairy G sorts her out, gives her a makeover, a new dress and everything. Cindy then looks hot and ready to party! She tells her to be back by 12. Stepsisters already at the party, Cindy arrives fashionably late. -SCENE CUTS- Outside the house, times ticking along. Fairy G is waiting outside in her car for Cindy. Cindy runs in, leaving a high heel. Chris runs out and grabs it, going “wait, wait”. Chris texts Cindy about her missing shoe, they arrange to meet at a specific time. He comes round, split screen of stepsisters face, Chris and Cindy walk outside together arm in arm and go off down the street. The book closes, the end.
3. A modern version of Cinderella. Jessica and Jack Not So Happily Ever After Jessica never had a mother. As long as she could remember, there was nobody except her father, George, and her. George had often shown her pictures of her mother because Jessica was depressed. She never had a mother, but now her dad was trying to replace her mother. The woman, Ellen, was tall, bony, and had an ominous aura around her. She had two spoiled twin daughters, also inheriting her thin, lanky frame. To add to their looks, they were extremely snotty and brusque. Their names were Claudia and Carla. After a few months, George and Ellen were married. Because of her dad’s excessively busy job, going away on business trips for years was normal. Ellen simply loathed Jessica, and Jessica also hated her back. Ellen stole and broke Jessica’s cell phone, laptop, and even scared away her most of her friends, though she still had a few. She had no way of contacting her father now, nor did she have many friends. On top of all that, tedious chores were given to her everyday. If they were not done to Ellen’s satisfaction, Jessica would often be slapped. A combination of all of these factors often left Jessica crying in bed at night and disheartened during the day. Jessica was lovely. Her flaxen hair was long and shiny and her face was free of acne. She was beautiful, even in her old pass-down jeans and shirts. On the other hand the two sisters looked as if they belonged in some haunted house. Their faces were plastered with acne and their hair was just an oily tangle. No matter how much make-up they wore, what sort of acne remover they used, or what sort of dresses they wore, it would never covered up their repulsiveness and their clumsy, maladroit moves. Soon, the prom was upon them. Jack was definitely going to become the Homecoming King. He was extremely popular but also very imperious. The problem was that he did not have a person to go with. Being how arrogant he was, he decided to hold “try-outs”. The two sisters grew really excited and decided to try. They carefully placed make-up and tried on fancy dresses with the help of Ellen. Claudia left in a hurry. No more than five minutes later was she back. “He doesn’t love me!” she wailed and sobbed on her sister’s dress. Carla, discouraged by what happened to her sister, did not go out with Jack. Jessica was dispirited by what her stepsisters said about her being so ugly, so she shied away from asking Jack. One day, her remaining friends came over. “I got turned down…” one of her friends sighed. They all shared stories about what happened when going out with Jack. When it got to Jessica’s turn, she told them she did not ask him. They were all surprised at this, seeing how beautiful Jessica was. They pressured her into asking him and finally, she collapsed. They offered some of their clothes, called Jack and asked him, and after a few hours of preparation, she was ready. When Ellen heard this she refused to let her go. And just to mock Jessica, she claimed that she would let her go if she separated all of the peas from popcorn kernels in three hours. They first called Jack to postpone the date until dinner and he agreed. Her friends helped her and after two and a half hours of sorting they were finally done. Jessica left before her stepmother could say another word. Jack and Jessica headed down to a restaurant downtown and ordered. Her friends waited outside her house (after being kicked out by Jessica’s step-mother) for hours. It was past dark when she got back. Jessica was so excited that she could not keep it in. She spoke. “He said he’ll go to the prom with me.” At first, she was extremely excited but after a while she realized just how arrogant Jack could be. And so, they went to the prom together. Expectedly, Jessica and Jack got voted as the Homecoming King and Queen. They went out for a short time. Jessica grew popular. She grew many friends though her sisters devised plan after plan to make her unpopular again. None of them worked, but Jessica and Jack finally broke up. She complained about him being “too arrogant and so self-centered”. Though she broke up with him, they still stayed friends. There was nothing her stepmother or sisters could do to pop her bubble. Finally, after a year her dad came home. He quit his job because it kept him away from his daughter and he found a new, more flexible job.
