The model minority myth defines all Asian-Americans as being well
educated successful career-driven and law-abiding citizens in the United
States as compared to other racial/ethnic minority groups such as African
Americans and Latino the notion of model minority is based on census
data and other demographic statistics that indicate that Asian Americans
achieve higher levels of education and household incomes than Whites
than other groups of color although these data may appear accurate e.g.
Asian American have higher incomes that African Americans and Latinos
several factors are not taken into account when understanding this
