This three session lesson plan aims to teach 9-10 year old students about places in town through using mobile phones to take photos. In the first session, students will go around town with their parents to take photos of different places. In the second session, students will use computers to create a PowerPoint presentation with the photos and add text. The third session will involve students presenting their presentations to the class. The goal is to improve students' vocabulary, technology skills, and collaboration through a mobile learning activity.

Lesson Plan Title- Places in a town
Lesson Description (brief) - Students will take some photos of different places in the town with
their parents’ mobile telephones.
Age Group- 9-10
Duration- 3 sessions
Objectives- Review the vocabulary about places in a town in English.
- Use the mobile phone as another tool to learn, not only to play.
- Show their mates the photos they have taken.
- Improve the students’ ITC skills making a presentation or slide show with the photos.
Classroom Set-up (Please include a description of your class setting)The first session will be done outside the class as they’ll go around the town making photos.
This task will be made with parents’ permission and help.
In the second session we’ll use the computer in class to prepare the presentation with Microsoft
Office Power Point. They’ll edit it and write the text, at the same time they include the pictures
they have taken.
Finally, in the third session, we’ll show the class the presentation the students have finished at
home.
Materials/Hand-Outs- pen drives
Apps/Web Tools/ Technology- Mobile phone, computer, interactive digital board.
Pre-teach- They’ll have an idea of how to use the program (Power point).
Detailed Lesson
Before the Task- Talk about the different parts in a town and who is going to take the photos of
each place. We can present the main vocabulary with flashcards or a video with words, pictures
and pronunciation.

During the Task- Take photos, then save them in pen drives at home and bring them to the
class. Use the computer and edit the slide show.
After the Task- View the presentation and comment on it.
Presentation- Upload it to the class blog to share with all the educational community.
Assessment- Observation of the children while doing the activity. Take into account effort and
enthusiasm in the realization of the task.
Additional Notes/Tips for Success- As it’s an activity outside the class, we’ll need close ties
with families and we’ll take care of the use of computers, although it’ll be a motivating activity,
since the students love using these technological devices.
