The Business Leader Survey that was completed by MNP Lethbridge and the Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce. This was released this morning at our Lethbridge Economic Outlook breakfast.
3. • Modelled after similar surveys conducted by MNP across Canada
• Short pulse survey was designed to provide an economic snapshot of the
local business community and opinions on key local issues
• Developed in partnership with the Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce
• Goal is to generate baseline information so we can work together to
improve the local business climate and help local businesses succeed.
Introduction
5. • The survey was conducted by a third party research firm, PRA Inc. under
the guidance of MNP and the Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce.
• The survey sample includes 200 business leaders based off a list of
over 700 Chamber Members.
• Telephone interviews were conducted between November 19th –
December 2nd, 2015.
Methodology
6. • Respondents included: business owners, CEOs, presidents, executive
directors and designated senior corporate officers from businesses
across all industry sectors in the Lethbridge Region.
• 39% of the businesses PRA spoke to participated in the survey, which is
a high response rate.
• Results will be posted on the Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce and
MNP Lethbridge websites as well as shared on LinkedIn.

The Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce partnered with MNP to take an active leadership role in the community. The survey focuses on the business confidence of local business leaders as well as other factors related to doing business in Lethbridge and area. We took this opportunity to generate baseline information and hear your (the community) feedback so that we can work together to improve the local business climate and make effective decisions.
MNP, in collaboration with the Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce, engaged Prairie Research Associates to conduct a telephone survey of Lethbridge business leaders.
Survey covered a cross-section of all industries represented in our region
Questions designed to capture the overall climate of the business community in our region.
The response rate was 39%, which according to PRA is high

- Overall, it seems like our community is cautiously optimistic
- Businesses have seen a decline in business and lower revenues due to the current global economic situation
- While most found it TOO EARLY to tell how the Federal Government is doing in creating a good climate for business, the Municipal government seems to be doing GOOD where the Provincial government is doing POORLY – the provincial government being the greatest concern in the coming year for Lethbridge and the economy.
